So, my trip back to college station went a little something like this.....
My ride, a girl who lives across the hall, oversleeps by an hour. No big deal, right? We can still make it back to College Station before the A&M tu game that night. So, she calls to let me know.
Now she's at my house. We're still only an hour behind, though. So, we take off from my house around 10 in the morning. And it's foggier than all get out, however foggy that is! So, that slows us down some, but not a lot. We soon arrive in OKC, and decide to stop just south of it to grab lunch. So we do.
When we stop, we discover that one tire is very low. Bad. BAD BAD BAD! So, we go to walmart to get it fixed. After wandering around Wal-Mart for an hour, they decide that they can't fix it. So, now they've got to put a new one on it. Another hour. Yeah, we walked around Wal-Mart for 2 hours. And bought nothing. Well, except for a tire :). So, we finally leave OKC. And it's smooth sailing, or so we think....
Because of our delays in OKC, we now hit Dallas at 5. Rush hour. Like none other. It's bad. We sit. And sit. And, we occasionally sit some more. so, we're actually in Dallas city limits from 5 till 6:30. Yes, it took us an hour and a half to get through Dallas. NEVER AGAIN! But, once again, we're on the road!!! And crusin at that! But wait, it gets better....
So, now that it seems as if nothing else could go wrong, torrential downpour hits. Not like, a few raindrops, like 6 inches of rain in 3 hours. I'm not kidding. It was horrible. We couldn't go over 50 mph. On a 70 mph road. Cars in ditches all around us. and we're hydroplaning. But, it's OK, cause we're gonna make it. Yes, that's right, we can see the A&M water tower. And we're home. It took us 12.5 hours to get here. That's not counting her drive down from KC. So, she was in a car for 15.5 hours. So, that is my story of my real life Series of Unfortunate Events. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did ;)!
