When I finally woke up it was morning. I was groggy, feeling like I had been drugged or something. I was still in the cemetary that's for sure. I looked around and I felt something wet beside me. I got up and looked over. It was blood..half dry..half still wet beside me. And no sign of the man that called himself my Watcher.
Now normally I'd just go on with my merry way and not even think twice about the guy. But something was nagging at me. Something horrible. I got up all the way and looked around. There was no sign of the guy but there were signs of struggle. Might as well follow that path I found, I thought. So I followed it for a while but it turned cold pretty quickly.
And that's when I got this tingling sensation all over my body. It was weird. But I just had this..feeling he was close. I followed my senses which lead to a broken down mausoleum. I opened the door and went inside.
There was nothing there though I did manage to find a hidden trap door leading underneath the mausoleum. I went down inside and low and behold there were a bunch of those bumpy headed fang things I saw before. Vampires ..the guy had told me. But vampires weren't real. Right? I tiptoed down the hall and there chained up to the wall was the man who called himself my watcher. He saw me as he was awake and I went over an ungagged him. "Get a sharp wooden stick" he commanded me, but barely above a whisper. I left him there for a moment and crept back outside into the graveyard with no one hearing me. I'm glad I'd always been like a cat on my feet. I picked up a branch and then went back inside.
Coming back to the man I found there was no way of getting him unshackled without waking someone up and having a key. It was then he told me about a place called Sunnydale. He said there was another Slayer there..something about some weird anomoly since there was only supposed to be one in all the world. If anything should happen to him, he said..go there. He told me then how to defeat a vampire and I went over to one.
I crept up slowly and just as I was about to plunge the branch into his heart, his eyes awoke. He yelled, which in turn woke other vampires up, and I did what I had come to do. I plunged the branch through the vampire's heart and to my astonishment he turned to dust. My Watcher was right. There were vampires. They were real.
But now the vampires were upon me..I tried to fight them off. I realized again how strong I was, and how easy it was to be kicking ass. I fought them off but I realized that perhaps I was way outnumbered. I retreated to the trapdoor and flung it open. Sunlight that had appeared in the top floor of the mausoleum by me leaving the door open flooded the basement, causing many vampires to turn to dust. Most of them fled, to where I don't know. But then as I looked around I could see none of them.
I hurried back over to my Watcher but to my horror I found out he was dead. His throat had been ripped out. I gulped. I've never seen anyone like that before. It made me shudder and I went over and threw up beside his body. I ran towards the trap door and flung myself up towards the floor of the mausoleum. In the sunlight there I started to cry. Oh god...what had happened to me.
And then I knew..I had to go to Sunnydale.
