Vampire Slayer

Also called “The Chosen One” and “The Daughter of Sineya,” the Slayer is a human female, generally in her early teens (though some have been Called as young as 8), who is Chosen by her world’s higher powers to battle the forces of darkness. Vampires, demons, incubi, succubi, trolls, dark magic, ghosts - basically, if there’s a bad movie about it, chances are a Slayer’s had to deal with it at one time or another.

The first Slayer was created when a girl named Sineya was chained to the earth by a group of men who then proceeded to allow a demon’s essence to forcibly possess her, giving her its powers. When she died, the powers passed to another girl, and from her to another, and so it’s gone for years. These powers include preternatural strength, speed, reflexes, senses, skill with weaponry, and healing abilities, as well as occasional prophetic dreams.

In May 2003, Buffy Summers, a Slayer who’d been active for over seven years, and her best friend, a powerful witch named Willow Rosenberg, used a weapon that was made for the Slayer long ago to activate every Potential Slayer in the world, making an army of hundreds. At the time this entry was written, it is still uncertain exactly how many Slayers there are, or how long this will last.
