[Action] An Outing

Jul 23, 2008 11:29

Autor walked up the steps of the princess' tower, contemplating his decision. Lord Sorasto had suggested giving the princess more freedom, but how? There was no guarantee that she wouldn't try to escape once he let her outside. Still...it wouldn't hurt to try. Perhaps he would take her to the Royal Archives, where he could keep an eye on her.

Kraehe had been lying in bed awake, again finding her mind wandering to her home and when she could return, when Autor had made his presence known behind the door. Sliding off the bed, she moved across the room to go behind her changing screen, and called dryly in return, "The first, not the second."

Autor blushed lightly and moved away from the door until she was ready. He didn't want to walk in too soon. "When you are ready princess, I would like to come in."

Kraehe's eyes hold some coldness; she really didn't feel in the mood to talk to him, but until she actually could escape, she had to deal with his nonsense. She shuffled through the dresses in the wardrobe full of gowns Sorasto had chosen for her, thinking inwardly that the ones she saw were all rather less formal than she was accustomed too. Still, she at last found a dress suitable to her tastes, and changed behind her screen. Once she had finished pulling the red dress over her head, she came out from behind the screen and sat down in front of the vanity to brush her hair, calling to Autor idly. "Enter."

((OOC: The dress has a top rather like her ballet ensemble in the series, except it has a wide skirt down to her knees like this. 8D))

He opened the door, blushing lightly at the sight of her in her dress. "Good morning, Princess. Did you sleep well?"

Kraehe didn't look at him, and merely continued to brush her hair. She had little interest in having small talk with someone who had prevented her from returning to her mother only two nights ago, so her voice was cold as she said in return, "What is it you want?"

A little hurt by her cold words, he nontheless continues. "I was wondering if you would like to take a walk outside."

Kraehe was startled by the proposition, and looked over her shoulder at him. "What do you mean? I am confined to this tower, am I not?"

Autor nods. "Yes, but so long as I accompany you, Lord Sorasto has approved of you leaving your tower."

Kraehe thought this over, before putting her brush down on the counter of her vanity. "Well...considering that I've been kept up in this tower for the whole of my time here excluding my own personal attempt at escape...the chance to actually be outdoors would be welcome enough." Picking up her skirts, she got to her feet primly as she stated with a faintly snooty air, "Very well."

Autor steps aside, clearing the doorway for her. "After you, Princess."

Kraehe walked down the stairs ahead of Autor, holding her skirt in the manner of a princess although the skirt was only below the knees in length and holding it up merely revealed more of her legs and didn't help her walk. She tried to ignore Autor, not wanting to have to interact much with him since she was still angry with him, but inwardly she thought that at least she'd be able to say hello to the birds that had come by her window.

Autor followed her silently, not wishing to disturb her. He bowed his head, but quickly snapped it up after realizing that such a position allowed him to stare at her legs. He needed to break the silece somehow. "Where would you like to go, Princess?"

Kraehe thought this over; since she hadn't been out of the tower before, she didn't really know what was here in the Kingdom of Sorasto. All she'd really paid attention to was the Gate separating her from the outside. After a moment, she paused in her walk down the stairs to look at him, her voice neutral as she asked, "Where would you go, in this kingdom?"

He stopped as well, not wanting to run into her. "...Well, I would go to the Archives. But you would probably prefer the garden, Princess."

Kraehe's eyebrows rose although her eyes remained sardonically narrowed. She'd run past the Archives while she'd been trying to escape two nights before. "What do you like about these Archives?"

He looked at her curiously. She...actually wanted to know? "Well, I enjoy books. I am currently performing research, so when I am not at your side, I am most likely in the Archives. The Archives holds all kinds of books, from fiction to nonfiction."
