"How to Blur A Line"

Feb 02, 2010 15:47

At The Russel Industrial Center's 1st building and 5th floor.

Dear material visualist,

With the show, "How to Blur A Line",
I hope to eradicate previous ideas you may have had about what it means to exist in a world of opposites. We have always been told that there is two of everything, and that one cannot exist without the other, and know that the "other" is often misrepresented, racialized, underrated, or forgotten. What if we lived in a world where everyone and everything was truly equal; a physical balance, if you will. What if we chose to accept what we dislike as completely necessary, and not a burden? What and who would we then have left to blame for our mistakes, differences, and fears?

What, ultimately, will break us free from generalizations, assumptions, and formalities so that we can get to the heart, core, or soul of an idea, concept, self, or life?

Come to a place that has an option, where you can be free of blind agreement, be yourself; that will combine a unique blend of
performance, photography, sculpture, painting, and illustration into one idea that will hopefully begin to set us free from the mind-prison that is "mainstream" and forced opposites.
