Prompt: #023 - Rubber Duckies
“Die! Die! Die already!” The Penguin shouted at the stranger who was preventing his latest plan from hatching. It had been perfect: rubber duckies delivering bombs throughout the sewer. On a timer, they would have exploded under the streets and blocked the police -and the cursed Batman- from driving to the site of his strategic heist. Batman hadn’t caught a whisper of his plan. The winged rodent wasn’t here to stop Penguin, but there was an unexpected obstacle. A transient had been sleeping in the sewer, now he was here and he was not dying like a good little rat.
This damned little man, who said nothing but dodged Penguin’s every bullet and punch had dammed the sewer. In minutes, the duckies would explode here.
Penguin jumped up and down in frustration. He might not be able to hit the stranger, but the stranger couldn’t hurt him either. “Why are you doing this to me? You’re not one of the costumed freaks.”
“Exploding rubber duckies is just wrong,” the man pronounced. “It’s like animal crackers without monkeys in pants.”
“Argh!” the arch-criminal shook his umbrella at the man. “You belong in Arkham, not me!”
The stranger smirked. “Yeah. I might.”
