Jack blinked. Nope, the same picture was there. Black hair, black lipstick, heavy mascara and a dog collar, all present in a military issue ID. Sometimes there weren’t enough words to express himself.
“We need a forensics expert,” Janet explained, aware that the silence was growing uncomfortable. “Abigail is the best the military has to offer. She currently works at NCIS headquarters.”
“Under who?” He swore he could feel the sirens start to blare. Wait for it . . .
“Jethro Gibbs, former USMC.”
Bingo. “There is no way that Jethro Gibbs will let us take one of his people into a classified operation.”
“Sir . . .”
“Nope. It would be like sending him a singing telegram inviting him to investigate the SGC. Look elsewhere, Doc.”
