Perfect. I can SO see Jack and Steve being drawn to the same hiding space (and of COURSE Carter would know where to look for Jack), and then bonding over the unchanging stars.

The bit about Carter discovering she's Jane Foster's scientific idol (and the implication that she had been so since Jane was just a little girl) was an especially sweet touch, with the opportunity it gave for some fond Jack/Sam teasing.

:). yeah Carter has been around and publishing for a while Dr. Foster seemed kinda young.
