i have been neglecting faithandwill for the longest time ever. it's just that when it comes to blogging, i have gotten myself so busy with the photography blog that i co-author and a translation fan blog for tomochin that i begin to lack interest in updating my personal blog. lousy excuse but still true nevertheless.
i have gotten a lot more interested in photography recently. still a noob and nowhere near a DSLR pro but one can still be interested in and get absorbed in paying attention to composition, colours and objects; pretty much the same few elements essential in any graphic/visual design. i am not obsessed with lens or builds but rather the story the picture seem to tell and my own rule of judging a photo, is by the number of miliseconds one pauses to take in the entire photo. well obviously a good camera is still essential and as far as i am concerned, my beloved LX3 is still working wonders for me and till i find another new camera that outshines it completely, i will stick to my 3 year old camera for now.
it's also great to have someone in the family with the same interest in it, in my case, my dad. he tends to go all technical and sometimes rant non-stop in jargons but it is a huge common topic among the two of us and we can go on and on about it. i share my better photos with him on picasa web album (since china blocked wordpress along with a dozen other blogging sites) and he will comment on them. recently, he is also actively persuading me to get a Nikon V1 when he heard of my latest interest in Panasonic G3, which is currently the world's smallest DSLR btw. he is a Nikon fan and he is kinda using my birthday present as a lure to get a V1 (for his own leisure shooting definitely, since i will not see him nor get the present until April and he totally wants to buy it within the next few days). i am never interested in getting something so ex for a birthday present though, i'll save up for it, which means i have months to work on that saving plan and choosing between a G3 and a V1.
back to my co-author photolog, i go by the name almonde on it:
http://lumixie.wordpress.com. it's not my english name or anything just that i go by the account ID almondtree alot on forums and chatboards that i decide to go by almonde for a more personalised virtual name.
as for my fanblog, well, it shall only be shared with fans lol. it has a steady viewership ratings so i am encouraged by that fact and i hope to continue to consistently update fan news and fan translations up there.
yes, finally going to have income soon. it took me such long and frustrating months to accept the fact that the attractions industry is small and not exactly volatile in manpower. and an equally difficult moment of decision to choose between tourism industry but not the area i want and a good marketing post at an awesome MNC but out of tourism industry, to truly realise that my desire to be in the travel trade, to be part of the tourism scene is so much that i can willingly take up another new role out of my comfort zone.
in simpler terms on how tough the decision is, i actually chose a bread and butter position of a hotel over a marketing/packaging design role of a regional headquarter. and although i am saying it was a tough decision, it was still made within half a day. XD
