after watching this youtube video, i thought i must share it: pop song medley by a choir. just by their way of singing, they had transformed the pop songs so dramatically, i no longer remember what the originals sound like. My favourite parts in this video are the SNSD & SHINee moments. i cannot deny that the fact that most of them are grey-haired grandpas and grandmas does add to the appeal of the performance. *winks*

it's a sad week for album sales and i only recognise Mana-chan on the singles chart other than AKB. and looking at the differences in figures......i think we may be looking at another million-sales-on-the-first-day release by AKB48. considering the fact that this is a support single for Japan's march disaster and proceeds will be going to donation for recovery causes, i am pretty much rooting for them to achieve crazy sales too. oh and all that hype to get the single although the full pv (not the dance only ver) is not even broadcast yet, talk about being popular.
just did a quick glance at the releases this year, seems that Arashi only had 1 single so far, can't wait for their next release; i prefer their songs over Hey Say Jump! anytime. =_=
with their only serious contender Arashi releasing only 2 singles (i bet their 2nd one this year is going to sell as well or even better than the 1st, which by the way, was a whooping 645K), i am betting that AKB48 is going to dominate the 2011 ranking chart.
like world dominance kind of dominating the chart.
the girls already have 3 consecutive singles crossing 1 million mark so far, and i don't see anything stopping Kaze wo Fuiteiru claiming another 1 million if Flying Get can get 1.02 million on their first day. and by any chance, if even the janken single (which usually doesn't sell as well) gets to exceed Arashi's sales.............. we are going to see the top 5 positions all getting owned by AKB48.
which is really crazy. and it will be a record that can't be broken in probably.. 20 years?
well, in the first place, 99% of the singers don't even release 5 singles in a year so if that record came true, it will be a near mission impossible for any one to break, really.
i am guessing the smart fangirls in japan & worldwide (not forgetting Arashi has a huge worldwide fanbase thanks to internationally well-loved Doumyoji <3) will realise my evaluations too and will attempt to stop that from happening. so i will not be surprise if we are going to have a million seller Arashi single coming up. in the end, it's the battle between fangirls and crazy wotas, and the winner goes to Johnny-san & Aki-P.
regardless of the battle results, all these are positive signs for the overall record industry. the divas no longer command the sales and weekly no1 spots are now a range of 40-80k, with korean groups getting the rare #1 with 20-30k sales, sorry i just had to italic that, so i think the industry need such groups to reignite people's passion and habit of purchasing real physical CDs rather than just digital tunes.
