Tegomasu no Ai at Kagoshima Shimin Bunka Hall
Kagoshima 1 (K1) - Kagoshima Shimin Bunka Hall Dai-ichi Hall, 26 Jun 2010, 2.30pm-5.10pm
Kagoshima 2 (K2) - Kagoshima Shimin Bunka Hall Dai-ichi Hall, 26 Jun 2010, 6.30pm-9.30pm

After a very long train ride, including several train transfers, we arrived in southern Kyushu for the second leg of our Tegomasu no Ai tour (no- we're the fans, not Tegomasu :P).

It wasn't easy getting to the venue in Kagoshima, and the public buses were really infrequent, but luckily the rival bus company had the business sense to provide a direct shuttle bus to and from the venue, and at a discount, and well-deservedly stole business from the public bus company LOL.

The Kagoshima goods queues were very long! Unlike in Nagano, where we suspect many of the audience had attended earlier shows in the region and so didn't need to buy any more goods. But Kagoshima was really quite remote and Tegomasu's first stop in Kyushu, so probably Kyushu-based fans turned out in force to attend the shows and buy the goods. From our eavesdropping on conversations (LOL) and observation of other fans, many were not Tegomasu fans but general Johnnys fans, not knowing much about Tegomasu. Unlike Nagano where many of the fans turned out in skull or pig patterned outfits, jerseys of the Japanese national football team, and various pink and yellow combinations which declared them as Tegomasu fans, such fans were relatively few in Kagoshima and I found myself strangely out of place in my skull patterned socks LOL. And they exclaimed about how cute the goods were (like they didn't even know what the goods were beforehand). We secretly hoped that the con would turn them into fans heh heh. Well, more on that later.

Tegomasu appeared from the sides of the main stage.

Miso Soup
K1-Tego suddenly lost his voice in the middle of the song and we went 'ehhhhh?' and after that 'daijoubu?' at him. It was like something suddenly came up to his throat and gagged him for a while. I was really worried! This has never happened to Tego before. After that he became distracted and kept missing or forgetting his lyrics.

K1-
Tego did a serious 'na na na na na~', and when it was Massu's turn he paused as if he didn't know what to do and in the end shouted 'TEGOSHIIII!'. In the darkness we could see Tego bent over in laughter. As if still distracted, Massu was late in putting down his mike and preparing for the backflip, and so flipped a little too close to the end of the stage, then had to scramble to pick up his mike again. In all, a flustered Massu LOL.

K2-
Tego said 'MASSUUUU!' and Massu hesitated 'ah...' before saying 'TEGOSHIIII!' again. When the spotlight shifted to the percussionist we could see Massu aim a mock kick with his knee at Tego in the darkness.

Before Moshimo Kono Sekai Kara OO ga Nakunattara
K1-
Tego said he was really surprised (bikkurishita) when Massu shouted his name. Massu explained that he thought Tego was going to do something funny so he had 2 ideas in his head in response, but when Tego went all serious Massu blanked out and all he could manage was 'TEGOSHIIII!'

Then Massu ribbed Tego on how he sang 'ah eiga no you na~ pan wo combini de gettoshite (ah like in a movie, I bought bread from the convenience store)' during What's Going On ie he mixed up lyrics from 2 verses. Tego went 'DOMO SUMIMASEN DESHITA!' LOL

By the way, to be honest, Tegomasu didn't sound like their usual best during the first part of K1. Their voices were a little thin and Tego had a lot of misses on the lyrics. In fact, stahsee initially thought Massu was sick (but no worries, he wasn't ^^)! I simply presumed that it was just one of their off-days, but when Tego said he was feeling hungry, we kinda understood why LOL. They asked each other what they ate at breakfast, and Massu said 'scrambled eggs' in his Engrish LOL. Well, scrambled eggs wouldn't have been enough for the hyperactive boys, would it?

K2-
Massu said he made a rare mistake just now, he dropped his throat candy onto the floor. He said he uses the 5-second rule instead of the usual 3-second rule (where if food that is dropped is picked up within 3 seconds is still fit for consumption), coz he's a guy or something, but he hesitated and so went beyond 5 seconds and the candy couldn't be eaten anymore :((((((. Chino-san was giving him sympathetic looks from the pit ^^.

Tego said 'Ok' and made the ok sign, and Massu caught on and also made the ok sign, and so Tego walked to Massu and they joined the 2 ok signs and ended up with, yes, 2 circles (maru maru). Massu then looked through the circles, and looked up at the screen, and pouted when he realised the screen did not show what he just did. He asked to be filmed, and when the screen didn't turn on for a while Massu continued to insist and Tego was like 'maybe the screen is not meant to be turned on for this part of the concert', but just as he said it the screen turned on! Then Massu made a third circle with his other hand and stuck it between the 2 ok signs and Tego was like 'there are 3 circles what's that supposed to mean (maru ha mitsu arimasukedo dou iu koto)?'

Before Kesenai
K2-
Massu was trying to say IN ENGLISH that Tego was going to sing a song, but ended up with 'Tegoshi ga SONG wo SING shimasu' LOLOLOL. Then he said he was going to leave the stage, at which everyone including Tego went 'ehhhhh?', and then said 'uso desu! (I'm kidding)'. They did a brief Dylan and Katherine monomane, and Massu said Tego was 'hoso macho (thin but muscular)'. Tego was like 'what about you?' and Massu said he was 'gori macho (big-sized and muscular)', and they launched into singing 'du du du du du du du du du hoso macho du du du du du du du du gori macho', taking turns at the single mike stand. Pls refer to this for what they were referring to

For the second round Massu sang 'gori macho' twice, and when Tego asked him why he didn't sing 'hoso macho' he said he wanted to sing the Massu version LOL. And we were shrieking in laughter and clapping along to their singing XD.

Then Massu went to the piano. Girls shouted at him to 'gambare', but he said 'gambaranakutemo ore ga dekiru (I can do it even without having to try very hard)'. After playing the Final Fantasy victory theme at several octaves, he finally started on Kesenai, then immediately messed up the end of the first line (who was the one saying he could do it without even trying? LOL)! So he stopped and looked embarassed. Tego said it wasn't Massu's fault, and it couldn't have been the band's fault as well since the band was made up of veterans, so it must be some other person's fault, and Massu stood up and gestured 'angrily' at the backstage as if it was the fault of someone backstage (I pity staff-san for being wronged!! hahahaha).

Then Massu sat down again and played Kesenai one octave higher (Tego said 'isn't that too high?'), and forced Tego into singing at a super high pitch. 'I really did try', Tego said.
And then Massu played Kesenai one octave lower. Tego made a great show of clearing his throat during the introduction and then sang the 1st 2 lines at a very low voice(I shouted 'Tegoshi gambare!' all the way LOL). Massu's reaction?

'It was more interesting at the higher octave (takai hou ga omoshirokatta)'. See? Massu's an S! hahahaha

M: Even though I do all that nonsense, I really like Tegoshi's solo song
Audience hoots XD
T: So then why did you do all that?
M: Coz once I start, it'll end, won't it?

AWWWWWWWW BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

Boku no Cinderella
We were in the path of Ai-chan's (Massu's elephant) dry ice for K2! It was very cooling! Thank you Ai-chan and Massu :3

Chu Chu Chu-teaching
K1-
At 'hanikande warau kimi ga suki dayo' Massu 'complained' the girls were giving them 'I can't do that' looks and flapping their arms very gently. Tego said that must be because they hadn't thrown away their inhibitions, and encouraged everyone to do so.

K2-
During the normal version, Massu went 'off-key' at 'sasaeauyo~' and when Tego questioned him he insisted he 'DIDN'T GO OFF-KEY!'. This happened twice!
During the slow version, at 'haato' Massu suddenly started singing in a 'tribal' way and started acting out this famous scene from the Lion King!

Acting as Rafiki (the monkey), he scooped up (something) and raised it(?) up to the sky. When he was done Tego was like 'that's kinda sugee' and Massu said 'I wanted to do the Lion King'. Then he stopped and just looked at Tego and Tego was like 'that's the end of your teaching?!' So Massu started from the second line but when he got to 'haato' he did Lion King again, this time running up to the platform and making a great show of scooping up the 'baby lion'. When everyone clapped and wouldn't stop laughing he jumped around like a monkey in the Lion King and invoked more laughter.

After he finally finished his teaching Massu asked Tegoshi to do the Lion King, but when they got to 'haato' Tego started doing his Terminator impersonation, and even Massu and the band members were laughing. At the end Massu shouted 'Tesshiiiii!' and Tego went 'Masuda-san!!!'. XD

Chu Chu Chu
K1-
When they went walking after the first chorus Massu drew a rectangle in the air and mouthed 'bento' into the camera.

For both shows, Massu said 'minna no koto tabetai (I want to eat everyone)!' KYAAAAAA~

It was a delight to watch Chu Chu Chu in Kagoshima! Coz it seemed that most people there were seeing the show for the first time, and they seemed so surprised by the Chu Chu Chu dance steps and kept exclaiming 'kawaii' at the boys!

Cheetah Gorilla Orangutan
When the band members were all lined up in front during the lalala portion, one of them suddenly left the line and gestured to the backstage. We were like '?' and the next thing we knew he had gotten a towel and was enthusiastically fanning the drummer with it (the drummer needs to play the beat so he was the only band member left working).

After K2
The structure of the hall was such that the 1st floor seats were in the basement and we had to walk up a flight of steps to get to the main exit. As we were walking up a long line of girls came walking down, flanked by staff, and there was a huge squeeze on the steps. We didn't understand what was going on till we reached the top; a long goods queue had formed that extended down the steps! This is just our guess, but it seemed that the audience were impressed enough to want to buy their goods as keepsakes! We were so proud! LOL
