I shall have to find a new year meme and get all philosphical at some point. For now, suffice it to say that 2008 was a pretty crap year and 2009 can really only be better. I'm trying to plan something abroad like volunteering and retraining for several months, with a possible view to working overseas indefinitely. But I'm finding it difficult to start planning anything at the moment without an internet connection at home. It's rather frustrating.
Christmas was fairly mundane, as usual, but with barely any parental spats it certainly wasn't unenjoyable. I've mostly been relaxing playing Lego Batman on the PS2. I really must finish Twilight Princess as well - I restarted it a few months ago but haven't played since before I left for Thailand.
Christmas presents included £50 towards my new digital camera, Lego Batman for PS2, a ticket to see Strictly Come Dancing Live in February (to keep Mum company) and a bracelet-type watch in brown. I bought my first digital SLR camera - a Nikon D40 - but I'm waiting for some accessories before I start using it in earnest.
In non-Christmas news... This last weekend was spent singing in Hertfordshire - had lots of lovely solo bits. After watching Blue Harvest and some Family Guy episodes, my new catchphrase has become, "Something, something, something Dark Side." Someone's driven into the side of my car (again), so I've had to claim on insurance (again). And now I'm back at work. It's a bit pants.
