the B.A. stands for "badass"

OHAI!

A week is long time to go without updating, though it feels more like years. I've been plenty busy in those seven days with packing, moving, unpacking, Disneyland, and oh yeah, graduating. Let's start with that last one.

Best. Day. Of. My. Life. Seriously. It was perfection. The day started really, really early and once it got going, there was zero down time. The roomies and I remained pretty calm that morning, getting ready in silence aside from making a few jokes and Allison making sure we all had sunscreen. David dropped by before he went to get his seat to drop off my graduation presents: a new Moleskin notebook and a cookbook I've been coveting called "How to Boil Water" (I need to start with the basics if I'm going to learn). He also gave me a card that threatened to ruin my eye makeup but I kept it together. He's the best.

Cut to the actual graduation. For a two and a half hour ceremony, it felt like it was over in no time. One minute I'm listening to our commencement speaker, the next I'm lining up to receive my diploma. One might wonder what's going through a graduate's head at that moment. I'm here to tell you, for this graduate, my mantra the whole time was "don't trip don't trip don't trip don't trip don't trip get diploma shake hands hug professors don't trip don't trip don't trip." And I didn't! Score one for inexpensive, yet stylish, Target shoes.

We laughed, we cried, we became alumni. I felt a little like I was going to prom with all the pictures being taken. Afterwards, we had the BEST lunch at Olive Garden, giving us time to relax a little bit before we headed back to the amphitheater for my aunt's graduation from the school of business! We are all so proud of her, and can't wait to see what amazing thing she does in the Peace Corps!

Then it was back to my apartment to finish packing up my life and move back home. Had it not been for David, I would never have been able to do it. He was there the entire day and made me get up off my lazy, graduated behind and actually pack (I really didn't want to). He was sweet and supportive and let me cry on his shoulder when things just got too sad/real. I owe him big time, and can't wait to cheer him on at his own graduation in less than a month!

So there you have it. The best day of my life to date. There are many more exciting days to come, but the memories from this one will keep me more than content until then. Thanks for sitting through the ramblings of a recent college grad (still so weird to say). I leave with a picture that pretty much sums up the joy and spirit of that day:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! :D

Back to unpacking I go!
