Every half vampire has mommy issues

My eyes opened revealing an empty bed. Holding my head which had started to pound from the minute my eyelids went about 2 centimeters away from each other I sat up in bed before sitting up against the head board. Scratching my head I smirked as I remembered what had happened earlier that night which was when I realized that I was alone. No Lindsey in the room, on the floor or even in any other room. He had ditched me, the fuck. Sighing, I turned back regretting coming here, regretting even drinking as I spotted a note. Picking it up I grimaced reading it's contents.

Connor,

New player on the board. Darla’s back in town and she wants to talk to you.
Find her before she finds you, make her talk on your terms. Don’t do anything stupid.

I held the letter limp in my hand as I remembered the last time my mother tried to talk to me. I hadn't listened. I had killed an innocent girl and all because of Jasmine. But that was in the past. Now she was back. Which if I thought about it was a good thing. I was no longer corrupted by Jasmine and could now enjoy getting to know my mother. Realizing the clothes I had had on were soiled I had to borrow some of Lindsey's. He at least had a plain back t-shirt and blue jeans. Not really me but neither was sleeping with an evil male lawyer. Maybe it's part of the new me?

I closed his apartment door wondering if I should lock it, realizing I couldn't lock it, and then walked over to the elevators. I held the note in my hand as I decided to go down to the lobby and ask for her. She was obviously somewhere in this building. it was just a matter of where.

Heading down to the lobby I nonchalantly asked for "Darla, please" before being told to head back up the elevator. In fact to head four floors past Lindsey's. Because she now had an office. My mother was...working here? Last time she visited she seemed the paragon of all that was good and not evil, now she works here? Maybe it's a trick, or maybe even she's being forced to work here which is why she needed to see me.

Which is why I need to save her. It's the least I can do because she had saved me once. Way back when she decided to stake herself instead of let me die. Or something around that.

The doors opened and I snaked around the corner spotting Darla's office and paused outside. I didn't want to be rude. There were voices. No one's I recognized but Darla was with them. I knocked first before opening the door and leaning in.

"You wanted to see me?"

I paused.

"Mom?"

[Open to Darla]
