After my conversation with Gunn, the both of us had realized that it was a bit ridiculous to be locked up in our rooms, fearing change - although that did happen to be the watchword around here. Too many nuances for a guy like me and my horns would literally be spinning.
I heard commotion outside of my room and down the hall as I stood before my mirror and finished tying the knot in my tie. With both eyebrows perked, I finished cinching the knot tight around my neck and went to go see what all the fuss was about. I stepped outside into the hall, and made my way around the corner to find myself face to face with the pointed end of a crossbow bolt.
I was met with a scream, to which I matched with one of my own, until I realized the person holding the crossbow was Dawn, Buffy's little sister. Or, so I assumed, anyway. Hadn't really had the chance to talk to her. I put my hands up infront of me after I had finished screaming, the initial shock going away. "Hey hey hey, easy with that thing, Puddin', you could take an eye out if you're not careful," I said, my voice only half-scolding. I stepped into the light, although the shade of my canary yellow shirt was probably enough to illuminate the entire hallway. "What on earth are you doing running around with that thing?"
