Since finishing Uni and waiting to start my new job, other then doing a few extra shifts at the Spar shop I work at, I've had a lot of time on my hands. A fair amount of this has been spent with friends, family, reading, writing and playing ridiculous escape games on bored.com. The rest has been watching Merlin. I know I really should have watched this already, with it being British and rather fabulous, but having worked nearly every Saturday for the last 3 years, I've never gotten around to it.
Until now, and may I say it is just as fabulous as I expected. I am and always have been a huge fan of period pieces, combined with the fantasy element and I know it's going to be a winner :) Not to mention the two main characters Merlin and Arthur played by Colin Morgan and Bradley James, are absolutely gorgeous. To be honest, neither of them are text book beautiful, although Bradley James isn't too far off *sigh*, but I think their faults make them more attractive, not to mention their personalities.
I've been watching a shameful amount of videos of them on Youtube and I honestly want to be their best friend. Plus they make for serious competition with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki (Dean and Sam from Supernatural) and Zach Braff and Donald Faison (J.D and Turk from Scrubs) for their on and off screen bromance. If I could shrink them all, put them in my pocket, and run away to some far off kingdom where we could live happily ever after, I really would. No matter how crazy that is :P
One of my fave Bradley and Colin videos is definitely this one, whether you've seen it or not, I'm sure you'll enjoy!

Aaah...I'm sure King Arthur would have enjoyed a good power ballad in his day :)
I'm sooo happy that I'm going to have 3 series to enjoy now, and all on different days, yay!! Not only has Merlin restarted but Glee and Supernatural both restart this week. Yay!!!! All I need now is a new series of Doctor Who and I'd never ask for anything again, ever!!!
On a completely unrelated note, I started jogging today, in fact I finished my first session just under an hour ago. I found a plan on the internet, that I've individualised to suit me. The basic plan is to get someone who has never jogged properly before (like me), to be able to run continuously for half an hour in around 9 weeks. Each week is split into 3 different workouts which I am actually going to follow. So week 1 day 1 (W1D1) is completed, and I actually really enjoyed it. The plan I found was a combination of running and walking for 20 minutes with a 5 minute warm up and cool down.
Because I already have a reasonable level of fitness through netball, I decided to increase it to 30 minutes with a 15 minute warm up on the exercise bike, still keeping the same run to walk ration. Being at the gym actually worked in my favour, as I wasn't able to slow down when I started to tire, I managed to mantain 4.2 mph whilst walking and 6.2 mph whilst running. I'm looking forward to my next session, which must be were I've been going wrong with previous attempts. I try to run and run and run, end up with a stitch and my enjoyment hits the floor. Hopefully I'll be running again on Thursday. I know this might not be very interesting for many of you, but I'm going to try to post a little about my progress after every session. And, if anyone's willing, if you do notice a period where I've posted, yet not mentioned my running, I'd love you to tell me as I many have fallen off the wagon :)
