Warning: Rant Ahead
South Dakota just passed a law banning nearly all abortions. Why does it seem the whole nation is stepping backwards. And why does it seem it is always those with a penis that try to have the final say in what control a woman has in an experience they will never be in danger of experiencing, pregnancy. Regardless of what they may claim they will never know the fear of waiting to see what may or may not turn blue.
But in some ways its the woman that piss me off even more. On the radio I heard a woman supporting the ban because women who have abortions have regretted it and have to put a stop to that. What gives you the right. So you had an abortion. So you regretted it. That's life. Life is all about making decisions, an eventually regretting the majority of those decisions. But that doesn't give you the right to stop other people from being able to make the same choice, or even a different choice. You know, that thing that you get to do when you are an adult, make choices.
I'm sorry but in a free society you don't get to tell someone that they can't do something just because it didn't work out for you. At least not unless that person happens to be your child and under the age of 18. You can't be free and force your choices on others. Part of being free is realizing that you are not going to like everything that people around you do. If you don't want to have to deal with it try out a fascist society. I'm mean history has shown how well those usually work out. Very big on spreading the love and life. So you regret your decision, well please tell me about it. Because you have freedom of speech. And maybe that speech will change a womans mind and prevent an abortion, and if so horray for you. But don't tell me what I can and can't do with my life and my body.
I'm sick of the religious conservatives making up science to support their opinions. I can't give you the morning after bill because I'm against abortion. IT'S NOT ABORTION IDIOT. If you bothered to pay attention to the fact with your mind instead of seeing everything through the coke bottle glasses of your slanted world views you might realize that an abortion requires fertilization. Guess what. If you take the morning after pill and the egg and sperm have already joined you are still pregnant. All the morning after pill does is stop ovulation so that if an egg has not already been released there their won't be a baby. It would be like me claiming that the vet killed kittens because they neutered my cat. OMG. Think of all those kitties that could have been. Where they hell would I have put them. What would I have fed them. Who would have cared for them. What a horrible life they would have lived as I was left with no choice but to turn them out on the streets or condemn them to death. Okay so male cats can't get pregnant. But he could have gotten other's pregnant.
I could go on and on but I'd probably just get repetetive, and red in the face.
