So, I asked a cute girl out. She's funny, cute, and said 'yes', so what more criteria do I need? I don't know her very well. We work together, and I see her maybe twice a week at work, but there isn't really time to talk there. I'd like to get to know her better, so I asked her if she would like to go to a movie or something sometime and she said yes. She gave me her phone number and schedule for next week, so that's good, right?
She knows it will be a date and that I'm interested in being more than just a friend, so I'm not worried about mixed signals or anything. If things don't work out it won't make my job awkward, as I said, I don't really have time to talk to people at work, so I'm not worried about that. Why am I so nervous/anxious then?! I am really excited to take her out, but I don't know what I'm going to say or do. Dating is so frustrating! I don't want a serious relationship right now, I am not ready for anything like that. I just want to go out and have a good time. I'll be honest, if that leads to more than just cuddling on the couch, that's great, if not, that's great too. But I don't want to just hook up with someone I barely know. I don't want to just hook up at all. There needs to be potential, but I'm not ready to make a commitment.
