So I posted a while ago about MTV's Teen Wolf being delightfully campy. For those of you still paying attention, you really need to go check out this show. In a tv world seriously lacking in decent scifi and fantasy fare, Teen Wolf has stepped up to the plate, offering consistently smart writing and character development over the course of its 12 episode run. How the hell does a show about a goddamn werewolf in high school end up being good? It somehow even managed to make the stereotypical jock into a 3-dimensional character with believable personality neuroses.
The young man playing the lead could use some more range. He does an Orlando Bloom and just looks adorably confused a lot. However, the actor playing his sidekick Stiles, where did they find this kid? Why isn't he a star? He makes the acting look effortless and brought his character from comedic relief to the most interesting thing on the show. Thankfully, the director figured this out and gave him more air time as the season progressed. I can't wait for the season finale next week.
