Well, I have to say I get this. Not just generally but specifically in most every area. First, El Paso, what's taht all about anyway. I was made fun of the other day because it was pointed out that in many ways I am culturally hispanic (it had to do with admirig a "Fast and Furious style automobile). Its just not like anywhere else, for good and bad.

Facebook and Myspace have caused me to realize that I have lived in a half dozen largely unconnected adult epochs, at least to judge by the people. You are part of of epoch #2, early Amtgard and Undergraduate years, and then you are mostly gone from my life. It is amazing how many other people I loved have the same story. I was aware of it before and have described it as like flying through space and ocassionaly bumping into someone you hold onto for a while until they fly back off through space going their own direction. At the same time, these social networking sites are like ghosts in the machine because it is so easy, just as you described. They are reminders of past things more than anything meaningful in he present.

We should all write more not less.
