have you heard the news about the gay marriage bill in california? maybe you haven't, with all this hurricane katrina stuff going on. and i think that's a good thing right now. everybody is so focused on new orleans that the opposition to the bill is quiet for once. the bill passed in the state senate on thursday and in the state assembly yesterday (where it NARROWLY failed twice before). next stop, the governator's desk. hopefully ahnold will realize that he's not on the good side of most californians and that he could use the gay community's support. if he passes it, california could be the next massachusetts. the difference is that massachusetts had a court order to legalize gay marriage. california doesn't. here, it's lawmakers voting to legalize it.

i'm not optimistic about schwarzenegger signing this bill.
