Jack/Ianto Ianto/Captain John UST
Jack is killed and parts of his body scattered around the world. Ianto and Captain John embark on a dangerous trek to retrieve them.
Wonderful fic both incredibly macabre and tender at the same time. The quest - retrieving hacked up parts of Jack from various exotic locales - is incredibly horrifying and dark and the changing power dynamic and erotic undertones of the John/Ianto relationship is fascinating, being played out through their ever escalating game of truth and dare. Captain John, rarely well characterised in fic is very strongly written in this. His moods change lightening quick from mockery to bravery, seduction to occasional flashes of vulnerability. We see the action through Ianto's eyes and it's great to see Ianto portrayed as such a strong capable character instead of the emo girl he is so often portrayed as in fic. The fic also crucially makes Ianto's acceptance of John utterly believable without resorting to a cliched "sex cures all" scene.
