It's an odd fic in that there is a lot to like and dislike about it in equal measure. Fantastic engrossing plots and brilliant Captain John and Mickey characterisation but her Ianto is a whiny emo broken hearted 12 year old girl and Jack is way OOC. When I reached the last chapter I actually scrolled back up to the author's notes to see if she was co-writing the piece with Karaokegal as the Jack in this is the Jack favoured by her - cold, hard, humourless, bears no resemblance to anything seen on screen and considers Ianto to be less important that something he scraped off his shoe. Any fic which has as its central conceit that Jack doesn't love both Ianto and Gwen to bits (no matter what form you consider that love to take) is massively OOC in my book.
So yes whilst I find it hard to work out where the author was coming from in relation to the Jack and Ianto characterisations (I was convinced that Jack had been replaced with a shape shifter and had sent away the two people who knew him best and would spot it - John and Ianto - but no)there's still a lot to like about the fic.
