i think darlene superville would totally agree with you if the rules of unbiased reporting weren't keeping her from taking one side or the other.

then again, the part about the metric system never catching on - is the metric system something you've rooted for? because i have, although maybe only because i haven't spent my life learning the intricacies of the english measuring system - just the english language.

i've never had an opinion on using the metric system. i think it'd be easier probably, yeah, but we're fine with the standard system already. anyway, spelling things phoenetically would prove hazardous because there are words that people pronounce differently (interesting, either, neither) and then there are homonyms and it'd just be a mess. stupid, stupid idea.
