Sheryl is a pampered pop princess with a sexy smile with her sexy lips and soft hips. She has a bit of a bloated pride, and perhaps that's overestimating. Sheryl knows she's sexy and she knows how to work her angle. She's not afraid of touching someone, and she's not afraid of putting more emphasis on her cleavage, rear end, or other body parts. In fact, she's very confident of her body and has even groped herself on stage and worn clothing closer to be scraps of fabric than something to appropriately cover her body.
She's also really stubborn and proud, and it's best not to poke that pride, because Sheryl often reacts in a very...childish way. She likes to get her way and be a queen waited upon hand and foot. She also has a habit of treating some people like they are her servants. She likes to make messes and have people clean up after her--WHEN SHE SAYS SO! She's even gotten persnickety with Alto for trying to clean up a mess she made in her room (because Sheryl Nome will tell you when she wants her room cleaned, thank you very much!) She doesn't like being called stupid, dumb, or a slut. But wait, call her a slut, and she might just not give a crap. Seriously, she's that confident in who she is as a person--SHE'S SHERYL FUCKING NOME! And she's invincible!
...no she isn't. But Sheryl likes to think she is untouchable by evil. She likes to believe that she's incomparable and very desirable (although to put it fairly with her, this is most often a reality.) When she wants something, she thinks she should have it. She will do what she has to in order to get it. She'll even bump and nudge shoulders if she must, but if someone is a true creep, she may just stomp on their faces and take what she wants. This doesn't mean she totally disregards rules, she just believes that if she wants something, she should just go and get it. No pussyfooting around. Just get in there and get it already!
Though Sheryl can be a bit...up front and too personal, she does mean well...sometimes. She likes to have the people she cares about healthy and well. She may drive them nuts a bit but she does genuinely care. Example is when she and Ranka are primarily in a triangle with Alto, despite all situations, Sheryl still cares a damn lot about Ranka and is very upset when Ranka is captured, hurt, or being used used. Perhaps she's even a bit of a big sister figure, but she wants Ranka to be happy...just not with Alto. Sheryl is very much in love with Alto. She claims it's a crush and that she can just laugh off a kiss with a blush, but she does care a lot about Alto. He helped bring about a realization in Sheryl. Because of him (and a bit of Ranka) she realized that needed to be a bit more humble. She may not be forced to honor her commitments, but she should. It's the right thing to do. She feels that she owes a lot of her fortune to her fans. She owes it to them for cheering her on and reassuring her whenever she felt lonely and vulnerable. Ranka and Alto count in this lot. She's very thankful to have them along for the ride and while she may not express this thankfulness often, she makes sure they know how she feels when the moment really counts.
An example of her selflessness can be shown when, despite people encouraging her to take medicine and rest to slow the V-Type infection, Sheryl threw aside treatment to continue singing in order to aid Alto to stop the Vajra. To her, helping Alto and Frontier mattered more to her than her own health.
Past the supermodel, idol persona is a lonely, vulnerable girl Sheryl hates letting out. Sheryl may not look it, but she used to be an orphan scavenging for food through garbage in the slums of Galaxy. Sheryl's mysterious childhood started on the 117th Research and Exploration Fleet, as the daughter to two people who refused to follow a status set by the government, and for that, were mistreated. She is also Dr. Mao Nome's granddaughter, who died not long after Sheryl was but five years old. Sheryl's mother fell on hard times and disappeared, leaving Sheryl on the streets. That's when Grace found the little orphan and took Sheryl in to her research division with the intention of using Sheryl in her research on the V-Type infection. Sheryl is one of Grace's failed experiments, called Fairy 9, and is discarded by Grace on the ship Galia 4, once Grace states that Sheryl has outlived her "usefulness" to the research.
This revelation almost caused Sheryl to quite her music career and spiral into a downward spiral of self-loathing, but Alto picked her right up and told her that she was more than what Grace claimed. Thanks to Alto, and Ranks pep rallying as well, Sheryl was able to become a stronger person after Grace cut the final ties with her adoptive daughter.
Another matter is Sheryl's singing. She practically lives to sing. Singing is everything to Sheryl, and once when she was asked what she'd do if she couldn't sing anymore or lose her voice, Sheryl stated that she would have nothing else to live for. Her music is self-written, and co-produced, as well as choreographed. Since childhood, Sheryl has made the front center stage her playground and she gets thrills up her spine whenever she gets to belt out a melodic tune or softly hum of couplet of a new song.
Abilites/Special Powers:
Sheryl has V-Type bacteria within her body. They allow her to make fold-waves through her singing. Fold-waves are how the evil bad guy aliens in her canon communicate and direct. Think of how a bat uses sonars to "see". This is how the enemy works. They move by one giant swarm and sound is how they navigate.
Sheryl can scramble their calls and signals with her voice, pushing the movement to destroy the enemy, forward. She's an asset, as well as a weapon. To aliens with a hivemind intelligence and communication system of sound waves, she's a triple threat. However, this is also slowly killing her. But thanks to Ranka's transfusions, Sheryl is capable of surviving the infection.
Sheryl's greatest skill besides her quick wit and super-star presence is her voice. While she is known as The Galactic Fairy (her stage name) for her creative concert appearances coupled with her voice, Sheryl's singing has won her multiple platinum albums and recognitions alike. Singing dates all the way back to her childhood, when she wanted nothing more than to please Grace, wear beautiful dresses everyday, and sing to her heart's content.
Third-Person Sample: The following sample is from Sheryl's other game,
aprigen. In the game, characters lose their names and are given fake ones, unable to speak or even write their real names.
Sheryl tightened her hold on the vanity's mirror. She looked at her reflection in the oval mirror, studied the correct application of blush, lipstick and eyeliner. Everything looks all right. The blush brought out her eyes and made her cheeks perfect for a virginal blush she wanted. The stage lights would bring out her best features tonight. In a place that practically banished sleep and kept the caffeine perked and pouring into sliding cups. Constant motion, the perfect residence for Sheryl Nome!
Or rather, Melody Nole. For the time being.
"Ms. Nole, you have five minutes," a moogle pops in through the little door, clipboard in its hand-hoof thing. The red ball on its antenna droops and bobs up and down as the flying piglet creature called a moogle, floats in place. It'd taken Sheryl a bit of time before she'd been able to take these creatures seriously. Talk about pigs flying...
"Thank you, Humphrey," Sheryl sweetly tells the moogle, picking up her powderpuff from its compact jar. "Just dim the lights, I'll be right out!" She bats her lashes and smiles oh-so charming that it more than convinces the moogle and he's out of the dressing room just as quickly as he'd entered.
Sheryl turns back to the mirror. She still is holding it in place. She curves her lips into a saucy smirk, then a pouting kiss. The pop star winks at her reflection, blows a kiss, then lets go of the mirror, and gets up from her seat.
"Time for Melody Nole to dazzle 'em!"
First-Person Sample:
[The video turns on to a very irritated Sheryl Nome. She's seated somewhere in the entertainment and wardrobe area of the mansion, wearing a fashionable black skirt, pink top, with her hair pulled back in a ponytail with her bangs framing her heart-shaped face and some pink flowers pinned in her hair. Glitter on her arms and gloss on her lips.
Sheryl fucking Nome is in the house.]
Someone gonna tell me what's going on? Last I recall, this isn't my concert area, and this certainly isn't Frontier! [She seems to be losing her temper.] What's the big idea! You can't just abduct the Galactic Fairy from her stage! That's not how it's done! I'M Sheryl Nome. One and only Sheryl Nome. The Galactic Fairy. You do not abduct The Galactic Fairy.
[Huffy, she folds her arms, frowning at the camera.]
Somebody better have some good answers before I start makin' people give me answers the old fashioned way! Hop to!
