So this weekend was interesting, I've come to the conclusion that i'm staying within a thirty mile radius until the sickness stops. Taking a four hour car ride to the other side of the state to visit with people you never meet is not a good idea.
The weekend started out with a funeral. I just have to say the sound of a mother wailing is very heart wrenching. Then on saturday we started out early (for us 8am) on a long drive to Ludington MI for a family (my inlaws) overnight get together and memorial service for one of shawns extended relatives that I never meet. After we get there my mother inlaw, grandparents, shawn and I decides to grab some snack and coffee. For some strange reason right in the middle of main street Ludington my gag reflex acts up and no garbage can in sight. I start to dry heave in the middle of the sidewalk. and thats just the start of this weekend. later on in the night the party of 20 deciedes to go get some dinner. the restruant that someone choose stunk of old fried grease. and they decided that we won't serve any food till we can serve all the food at once, NO soup or salad early, NO chips, or bread, I had to ask for some crackers since I was feeling sick and it took 15 min just to get those. By the time the food came I was again ready to loose it and had to excuse myself to rest in the car. when I got to the car shawn was kind enough to suggest that he take me back to the hotel room for some rest. (it was only like 3 mins away) I happily agreed.
So I passed out saturday night and somewhere in the middle of the night something bit me on my right eye lid that it swelled up to the point of swelling shut when I woke up at 6am wondering in my half wake mind what was going on. I started crying and scared ,shawn got me to rest and see how it was in an hour at 8am still swelled with only a slit we started putting warm compresses on my eye and looking up if the near by hospital was part of our insurance, thankfully it started to go down and i could open it better about an hour latter. About this time my inlaws and extended inlaw family was deciding to meet for breakfast. due to my eye and how I was feeling we declined and wanted to get on the road for the drive home. so as we were saying our good byes and hugging (my inlaws LOVE to hug, they hug everyone, multiple times) one of the extended inlaws had on a perfume and gave me a big hug. so by now we all should know what happens....I just start gagging, deep breathing doing my best not to loose it in the flowers with everyone looking. such a great way to make a first impression. one of the relatives even asked that I don't puke on them.
One day i"ll look back on this weekend and laugh. right now I just shake my head.
