Ani Difranco- Out Of Range
Mountain Goats - We Shall All Be Healed
Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
INXS - Kick

The first four immediately came to mind and I had to fish for number five. I suspect I only really have a top four.

These are in no specific order. I hate rating music on any scale. These are the albums that spring first to mind when I think of the traits you listed above.

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin 2 - Led Zeppelin
The Fragile - Nine Inch Nails
The Essential - Journey
Pavarotti & Friends - Pavarotti International Gala Charity Event - Sting, Zucchero, Lucio Dalla, Nevile Brothers, Suzanne Vega, Mike Oldfield, Brian May, Bob Geldof, Patricia Kaas, Mihael Kamen (yes. it's long. but, i put the entire title from the album cover because there are many Pavarotti & Friends albums out there. this one is the best)

Decided to go randomly into people-that-I-love's LJs and saw that I missed this...

I suck at music generally, but from my limited world of experience:

Rusted Root - When I Woke
Placido Domingo and Mandy Patinkin - Man of La Mancha
Original Cast - Rent
Tool - 10,000 Days
Barenaked Ladies - Stunt
