If you own a PS3, it can be used while it's on but not active to help researchers in Spain simulate molecular biological processes. All you have to do is download a tiny file from a site the researchers have set up, install the programme on your PS3, and just leave it on and connected to the internet via an ethernet connection when you're not playing.

It's like SETI, only, you know, useful and directly relevant.
