- Look at your LJ "interests" list.
- If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one.
- If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one.
- If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one.
- If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em.
- List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
anthro PCs -- This refers to a character in a webcominc I read, Pintsize from
Questionable Content. Very cute comic, but you have to be pretty into indie music to get some of the jokes. I had to dig through my CD collection to get a few of the comics, but well worth it.
big words -- Use your vocabularies. I know that you are on the internets and therefore too l33t to have to worry, but still -- pick up a damn thesauras every once in a while. It makes you look teh smart. Plus, I just like words.
conspiracy theories -- hee. I like finding crazy-ass conspiracy theories in almost anything. Left or right wing, doesn't matter, the wackier the better. I don't often share them as it makes me look... well, crazy. And then, you know, they'd be on to me. They're already watching my LJ. Don't ask me who, you really don't want to know. But they're there. Everywhere.
Edward Gorey -- Wonderful artist who illustrated numerous bookcovers and books of nonsense poetry, as well as writing and illustrating a number of 'alphabet books', those books of "A is for such-and-such", of which The Gashlycrumb Tinies is my favourite. It's an A-Z collection of small children and their hilariously unlikely deaths.
good posture -- As a former dancer and dressage rider, I really respect good posture. I know how hard it is to maintain, especially if all you're doing is sitting at a desk all day. And it's really important -- you can totally screw up your back with poor posture. Plus, it just makes you look good. I wish mine were better, actually.
inspiration -- I need some, as a matter of fact. I love it when you get a blue streak of inspiration out of nowhere. Inspiration is my favourite part of the creative process.
making do -- Self reliance. Do it yourself. Being able. Getting by. Values my grandmother pounded into me when I was younger. She lives more than an hour away from the nearest grocery store, so short of a medical emergency she makes do if she needs something. I try, as much as possible, to make do or do without, but frankly, I live in far too convenient a world for this to really be much of an issue for me.
Pintsize -- the Anthro PC from QC. See my first answer.
schadenfreude -- pointing and laughing. The German philosophical idea of takning pleasure or comfort in the unhappiness of other people. Feeling better about yourself because you can feel better than someone else. But mostly, the pointing and laughing.
tattoos -- I like body modification, though I'm much more into piercings that tattoos because they can be removed more easily. Currently, I only have one tattoo, and don't plan to get many more since I want them all to be easily concealable (which doesn't leve me with a lot of canvas, so I'm trying to be careful about how I use it), but I plan to get my second sometime very soon, since I already have it picked out :)
Venus Envy -- sort of a double entendre interest: both a
webcomic that I occasionally read, but that hasn't been impressing me enough to read regularly for a long time, and a
book by Rita Mae Brown (not one of her stupid mystery novels with the cat). I highly recommend the book, but I think everyone who would enjoy the comic here already reads it.
and finally...
your mom -- yeah, I went there.
And, since I enjoyed it when I did it before, and it goes hand in hand with this one, take a look at my interests and if you're curious about any of them that aren't listed here, comment asking me and I'll explain the interest(s) more in depth :)
