i don't cut

coming home was a really good idea and i've sorted my head out a bit over the course of this weekend. everyone is perfectly right of course; i should stay away from boys for a while and concentrate on being emma on her own. i've said this before though so lets just see how things pan out i guess.
went to the british museum on thursday and got led round a maze of corridors in the department of ancient egypt until finally stopping in a fire escape where they are currently keeping the rhind papyrus (it used to be on display but the lights were causing the papyrus to disintegrate. a lovely eccentric little man told me a bit about it and was very tolerant of my ignorant questions.
friday i went to the natural history museum to meet up with si and fido. si wants to be a wildlife photographer so we went and looked at the wildlife photography exhibition they had on. some very good stuff although it didn't look anywhere near as impressive once scaled down to the postcards in the shop. was good to see these guys again even if only briefly.
then went for tea and cakes with kate, paul and his boyfriend ben. ben is lovely; much like paul only far more laidback. he seemed quite nervous to make a good impression bless him. we wandered round for a while afterwards looking for somehwre to go for a drink that wasn't absolutely packed out. this took a while but meant that we walked past a few places that looked quite interesting so i went back there yesterday. feel like i know london a bit better now.
i've bought a book on nutrition and a book of yoga routines (split into sections which last 5, 15, 30, 60 and 90 minutes depending on how much time you have) so that healthy emma can start with vengeance. yesterday in particular was good for my head. went to an art exhibition at the barbican and then wandered round some shops. made friends with a man in a shop of crazy japanese toys who then directed me to a good comic shop where i got chatting to the bloke working there about "bone", which i now really want to read. felt like i could maybe enjoy living in london. i have, however, been banned from it by kate because i get "london rage" too easily.

i don't like:
*families
*people with luggage
*tourists
*people who stop right in front of you for no reason
*people who push the button to open the doors on tubes (they open automatically goddammit, they're just a bit slow sometimes)
*pigeons

i think everything on the list i could live with except the pigeons. i'm terrified of them. i jump whenever they're around and am fearful they will fly into my face beak-first. in most places this fear is manageble because they fly away when you get close but in london the pigeons are without fear. they are malicious little sky rats and we hates them.
