I haven't posted for a while, which always seems to be the case. But I only really post when I feel that I have things going on that are worth mentioning. And yesterday is very much worth mentioning.
Yesterday was the beginning of the winter break for me. No more uni for 2 months. Joy of joys. This meant that yesterday I had to drive back home to Dunsborough. So, I called in to see Brad on my way home, and I was only going to stop by for a quick visit. I think I ended up staying for about and hour and a half.
We talked and laughed and listened to music. We jammed some church songs together. He introduced me to some new ones, and re-introduced me to some that I already knew. Those songs made me jump around joyfully in his room, and his voice made my skin tingle as he sang Jars of Clay. We also jammed my new song, 'House of Cards.' It was cool to see him interpreting it, and improvising around the chords. (I wish i could play guitar!!)
And then, before I left, we mixed a CD. It was meant to be just a mix that I could listen to on way back to Dunsborough so that the 3 hour trip wouldn't affect my sanity. It's a really eclectic mix of songs. I love it. There's Camille, and Jimmy Eat World, and... um... Paul Greene, The Beach Boys, The Butterfly Effect, and Kisschasy. There's all kinds of genres and artists. And I finally got it to work as I was leaving Bunbury, after my CD player kept having a sad at me. It played all the way from Bunbury to Dunsy. It was so great. All the music just made me so happy. Best mixed CD for driving to EVER!!!
And I bought an iPod yesterday. A groovy little silver nano. 4 GB. It apparently holds 1000 songs. I'm not sure I have 1000 songs in my collection of CDs, but I'm going to give it a red-hot go! So this morning has been spent digging through my whole CD collection. And by the end of the weekend, I'm going to have a full iTunes library - all ready to put on my iPod. Now i'll never have to fear for my sanity again on the long drive from Dunsy to Perth, and back.
So, in short, yesterday was a very mentionable day. For entirely musical reasons. That and the fact that there's no more uni for 2 whole months! Hoorah!
