OH MY GOD DISNEY HUNG A CHILD! ((spoiler alert))
Yes I have seen Pirates of the Caribbean: Worlds End.
I loved this film. Yes I saw the short comings but it was enjoyable.
Bad points: More character development! This meant this already lengthy film could have been two. Weak acting from our younger actors as they were out gunned by the older and better folk. Chow yun fat not given enough screen time or allowed to develop so we are bothered about him. More Jack Davenport as Norrington he was great... but he died too soon.
Good points: characters fun as always ((yes Jack being fun)) some superb performances from Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow - delivering the witty lines as required and some fun scenes in how crazy he is. There is a lovely moment between Bill Nighy - Davey Jones and Naomi Harris - Tia Dalma. I realised how much I missed Geoffrey Rush as the crazy Barbossa. The Monkey Jack was also amusing source of entertainment. Kira Knightly seemed to grow into the role of Elizabeth Swann _still falling short on occasion but sill delivering in the long run. Orlando Bloom as Will Turner was consistent but did not achieve the emotional depth require (I feel). And A wonderful performance from Johnathan Pryce as Governer Swann
This film is the some what darker counterpart of the rest of the trilogy - the hanging at the start shows this. There are also many more epic battles and I feel too much to be resolved in a dingle film making up its bum numbing 3 hrs 15 mins running time. None the less a jolly film of swash buckling piratry none the less. There are some genuine memorable moments making the ropey scenes more bearable. Thoroughly entertaining…I should know I went to see it twice! I was surprised about how many critics actually slated this film. It does duffer from the block buster having to live up to its previous films but - when one critic said “this duffers from too many bad guys “I couldn’t help but laugh. This film is ABOUT the bad guys!! Hello the one main big bad in this is the East India trading co - the age old issue of the big company vs. the free enterprisers. all the others (including the enigmatic Capt. Sparrow) are simply shades of grey. I have found out I look good in a bandana … I may buy the pirate hat….I found on E bay…yay hat!
Hum…my brain has been too active as of late. It is rather irritating. I have found myself pondering about the past. You see I used to be in love with a boy since I was about 4 -5 yrs old…I thought the world of him. Then I found out what he had been doing and I( blamed myself…I guess I still do for his actions simply as I spurned his advances. I didn’t see myself as deserving. As those of you who really know me I seldom do. This left me thoroughly heart broken…I have only recently found the courage to realise this person meant something to me. It is sad really.
And now I wonder if what I do is just because it’s expected of me or if it has something to do with what I really feel. I fell down the stairs because of the cats today... Evil little monkeys…my elbow hurts and I have a cut hand…not good.
I need a drink…Its not fun at the moment,
I am not content…
