The Cycle of Life
Since when has life,
Ever treated us fair?
It builds our spirits
With good events,
Only to knock us down
With one blinding blow.
Life causes devastation
And mental destruction
For anybody who breathes.
Each person is effected
In a number of ways.
Be it a sudden death,
Just before a wedding or birth,
Or never having a chance
To have a moment’s happiness.
These things can happen
Without any notice.
When everything seems right,
Life takes a turn
In such a way that
It seems nothing will be right again.
We cry and complain
Of the unfairness of it all,
Forgetting that it’s life
And that’s what life is.
The constant ups and downs
One experiences in a lifetime.
We neglect to realize
That life always carries on,
Whether we like it or not.
We continue on the course
Life sets for us,
Towards those joyous events
And we keep our part in
The cycle of life.
