Leo's still dead, which is sad, but the Patriot Act isn't, which is just as bad.
I would like to strongly urge you to reject the Patriot Act as it comes up for renewal. The Bush administration has gone too far and must be held accountable. The legality of the NSA's actions in spying on American citizens is dubious; the Fourth Amendment states "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause." The Patriot Act should not be given an extension of time in which it can negate this vital idea of the Constitution. It is up to Congress to curtail this blatant disrespect of American freedoms and to stop writing blank checks for a law-breaking White House. I appreciate your time considering my opinion.
So contact
Hutchison and
Cornyn to tell them
what a bad idea renewing the "Patriot" act is. Oh yeah, I'm in Sherman now.
