A prince. Edwina had known from birth that she was made, no, destined for nobility. After all, what was that but golden locks upon her head? What were those but shining, glistening, glimmering orbs of azure? And! When approached with her best ruby red lipstick, never once tested on animals but those already quite near death, what were those but lips of the reddest rose??

Yes. From hours of careful reasearch and mirror examinations at the age of seven, Edwina had simply always known she had been born to wear a crown.

Thus, it was hardly a difficult feat to hang onto every word coming from Murdock, interjecting with only a few questions (mostly involving the weight and polished nature of his crown) whilst she imagined herself as Edwina Edith Dickering-Varletti, Queen of Italy. And not minding any and all political incorrectness of that fantasy (and, needless to say, completely oblivious to such things), she waltzed in with the Prince of Italy at her side. "Well! My mother always says that Italians are the third greatest nation, right after Virginia and the Chinese for economical workers! But," It was a query that she'd been longing to ask the walk over, "are you betrothed??"

Murdock was more than happy to answer any of Edwina's questions about royal fashion in elaborate detail, and even made several idle comments about how she must be of noble, or at least aristocratic, descent herself, given those statuesque cheekbones or that regal smile. Naturally he was drinking in the attention and throwing out all the necessary hooks to draw in more, though it isn't until Edwina's final query that Murdock remembers that he hadn't brough Edwina here to flirt with, but to use as a secret Sam-distracting weapon.

"Well, it has been suggested by my parents and certain members of the Court that I attach myself romantically to the Princess of Andorra, but between you and I she certainly doesn't seem my type. She is, after all, a brunette." He clears his throat and fixes his tie, giving the room a more overt scan. "Perhaps we should find Sam? It'd be awfully rude of us not to thank him for the invitation."
