Seith had actually been expecting Edie to knock on his door, since she knew where he was staying, but once four o'clock had come and gone, he'd waited fifteen more minutes, in case she was running late, before deciding to poke his head downstairs to see if she'd arrived. Thus he trotted down the staircase with neither portfolio or jacket in hand to find Edie waiting there.
"Oh hell, how long have you been waiting, love? I'm sorry, I thought you were going to come up," Seith was suitably embarrassed. He wasn't exactly compulsive about time, but he generally made an effort not to be late or keep anyone waiting.
She had just been contemplating a cigarette when Seith finally came to her rescue, finding that bright smile coursing up her face when he did arrive. "Not long, dear, just a few minutes or so. I thought about heading up, but you'd said to meet in the lobby. No matter, we've found each other and that's what counts."
Edie hitched her shoulders in a gentle shrug, surveying the area with a slight lessening of her smile. She didn't like the quiet that had fallen upon the area, not one minute little bit. It was odd, in the end, to not have Bob around screaming his head off. It always made the day interesting, always passed the time.
Now it all seemed a bit dismal. Shrugging off the feeling just the same as she had their silly little faux pas, a hand ushing through her hair. "So, how are you?"
"Oh that's right, I did." Seith could have smacked himself. He'd become increasingly scatterbrained lately, which was very unlike himself. He blamed the job, really, as his current contract consisted of several bursts of really intense activity then long periods of doing nothing but waiting.
"I'm really sorry. Work's been eating my head, and then the whole thing with Luke being in the hospital," he shook his head as if to shake off all the negative thoughts that had been plaguing him recently. "How are you, then?"
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that hun. It's fine though, it wasn't as if I was left out in the rain or something." Edie smirked a bit, leaning back against the pillar as she dug through her bag to find the box she had brought for him before she forgot. "I'm..alright. I was having some troubles earlier in the week, ran into Tale Queen-slash-Stepmother..unnerved me quite a bit. But David helped me sort things out so I'm doing quite well now!" Finally gathering the small white cardboard box it was offered out to him with a slight laugh. She indeed still seemed to be recovering from her sleepless nights, but that aside was indeed far more chipper than she had been. "Besides, I had today to look forward to."
