Harrison continued to smile, chuckling softly. "It's okay. No reason to apologize. I've actually been getting telemarketers on my mobile! I didn't even think that was possible. I just tell them I don't have a telephone and hang up."
A light blush crept over his cheeks. "Ooo, wow. Well, we could talk about how I just got out of the bath. Or we could talk about the fact that I'm in my boxers. But, uh..." He laughed. He was becoming such a tease lately. It was fun to tease Cassie, because he knew she loved it. "I'm glad you're good. I'm great. I think I got all the paint out of my hair. Not too many horror stories, no. It was just a crazy day. I got a few bumps and bruises on the Slip N' Slide, but otherwise no injuries to report. Thank goodness."
Her nose wrinkled up a bit, "On your mobile? That's awful. I really hope that never happens to me. Sounds like a good idea, or maybe not speaking English on the phone or something. That might work," she grinned slightly to herself.
Then her eyes lit up a little and she felt herself blush a little harder, "Really? Out of the bath? And.. in your boxers.. that's.. not very fair you know. I'm dry and not naked at all.." she sat back and curled her legs up under her. She really did like to be teased quite a bit. "Slip n slide's.. I remember those. Vaguely. Don't think i was ever allowed on one though. Mom was overprotective when I was a kid."
"Yes, exactly. I should speak Maori to the next one," he said, shaking his head a bit as he chuckled.
He grinned. "Mmhmm. I'm squeaky clean and in my boxers." He giggled like a little kid and blushed at what she said. "Dry and not naked? Well, you could change that if you want to..." Their previous conversation was fresh in his mind. He tried to imagine her on a slip n' slide and let out a little laugh. "Gabe set one up at the Pen. I had little floaties on my arms, for effect. It was pretty flash."
It was a good thing that he couldn't see her, because he was kind of gaping into the phone, her mouth in a round little 'oh' of surprise. Did he just ask her to get naked? "Do you want me to get naked?" Well at least she could say what she was thinking.
She giggled again, "Floaties? Aw I wish I had ... um.. felt them.. seen them.. y'know.. same difference. I can imagine they'd be pretty cute. Not sure as cute as you just in your boxers though."
Harri continued to blush, placing his free hand to his forehead. "Only if I'm there," he blurted out. His eyes widened. "I mean, uh..." Smooth, Harrison, he thought. Smooth as glass.
"I've still got the floaties. They've got Spongebob on them." He giggled again before turning a deeper red. He could not remember the last time he had felt so wanted. It was incredible. "I don't know if I'm cute." He looked down at himself. "I'm kind of skinny. But I suppose I look okay. Though not as good as you undoubtably look right now and always. ...That reminds me, actually: do you have any plans this Friday evening? I know we've got dinner Saturday."
That time she actually kind of squeaked in response. She really hadn't meant to, but she'd been swallowing, or something and it had just come out. Quickly she clamped her hand over her mouth, eyes wide and shook her head. "Harri.." she intoned, trying not to giggle or blush but failed miserably.
Maybe she had to fan her cheeks, which she started to do with her free hand, "Ah Spongebob.. fun. I know you're cute. And skinny's fine. I'm skinny.." well, skinny enough. She was kind of curvy. In the good way. "I dunno if I'm looking at all presentable. I didn't work today, so I didn't bother to match my clothes. I just picked some. That's always fun. Friday? Um.. nope, I never have plans," she giggled.
Harri looked down his long legs, which were stretched out on the bed in front of him. He couldn't believe he'd said that. Especially because it made Cassie squeak. "That wasn't supposed to be out loud," he said, sounding quite a bit sheepish. "S-Sorry."
He smiled. "Yes, you are thin. You're gorgeous. And mismatched clothes are great. I wear mismatched socks on purpose sometimes." He closed his eyes. "You look beautiful. I can tell. You've got plans now. I'm going to take you to dinner at Tavern on the Green. At, let's say, seven thirty?" Gently, he rubbed his tummy with a little smile on his face. "And afterwards, we could maybe watch Gone With The Wind. Because, frankly, my dear, I may have bought the DVD for you."
"It's.." she squeaked again and cleared her throat, "It's.." she tried again, much better this time. "It's okay Harri, I don't mind. I just shouldn't have breathed right then when you said it that's all. Never had a boy wanted to um, see me naked before." well it was true.
Running her hand through her hair, she laughed a little, "All right.. dinner and then a movie.. that sounds nice. I haven't ever been there before. That's one of those fancy places right? I should get dressed up? I have dress up clothes.." at least she did the last time she looked. Though of course they could have disappeared and she wouldn't have noticed.
Could she be any more adorable? Harrison smiled and sank down a bit on the bed, letting out a faint, happy moan sound. "I'm not so sure that's true. I'm probably just the first to be open about it. You're beautiful and ever since Saturday night, I honestly haven't been able to get you off my mind. Not even today when we were pranking people." He chuckled softly, remembering how the prevailing thought of the day was 'I wish Cassie was here'. "Breathing is only natural, my darling," he said sweetly. "It's what keeps you alive, therefore I want you to keep doing it until we're both one hundred years old and I die."
"It's a bit fancy. Is that all right? I thought it would be romantic. I'll even get the waiter to sing to you." He grinned before singing in a soft, lovely voice, "I know I may not be the man some girls think of as handsome, but to her heart I'll carry the key..." He blushed. "Or maybe I'll do it myself."
Cassie was beginning to realize that she was just not going to be able to stop blushing around him no matter what they were talking about, "It's funny you should say that because I haven't been able to stop thinking about you either. Let's hope I haven't been distracted at work and switched someone's medication.." she teased. "I heard about that.. breathing keeping me alive.. I shall try to remember to do that."
Her face was going to ache she was smiling so much, "Oh yeah that's fine. I promise I own dress up clothes, and if I don't, I'll get some before Friday." that couldn't be too hard, right? "You can sing to me any time you want to. I love hearing you sing.. you have a nice voice.." and really she'd rather hear him sing then some guy she didn't know.
Harri laughed. "Oh dear! I hope not. But you're a pro, so I'm sure it's all right. People from work have been asking if they'll see you again. I told them probably, if you wanted to go back there. But you're under no obligation. I'm sure the place loses its silly charm after a while." He smiled, patting his tummy now. He really was like a baby sometimes. "Please remember that. Though I do know CPR, so you'd be safe even if you forgot ever."
"I'm sure you own dress up clothes, sweetheart. Don't worry about it." He blushed again. "D'ohh...Well, I do try. Maybe I'll bring my ukulele and serenade you. Would you like that?"
Awww, that was making her feel gushy, "Yeah? They want me to come back? I'd love to.. I like where you work, it's lots of fun.." she really had fun there. Not every day you got to talk to werewolves and gods and the like. "Well if it does, I'll let you know, but for now I'd be happy to come back and see you.." really at this point, any excuse to see him was good with her.
"I'm glad you know CPR.. and so do I, so we're even.. if you ever forget to breathe.." she laughed and then got up to her feet so that she could get herself a glass of water. "You've got a ukulele? That's cute.. you're more then welcome to, I would be honored.. I'd love anything you did.." yeah she was horribly smitten.
Harri nodded, smiling and curling up a bit on his bed, laying on top of the covers. He was feeling hot again. "Yes. They liked you. Matt, who was playing Zeus for us, said we're cute together and Susan, who was Tobias, said she loved that you played along. Most people don't, except for the kids." Just then he made a funny noise that you might hear a baby make, then sighed softly. "I'm imagining that you're here on my bed with me now. It's not so very hard."
"I learnt CPR in school," he explained. "Lifeguarding lessons. I do have a ukulele. And a guitar. A few guitars, actually. Gabe and I have a band in that video game Rock Band. It's pretty cool. I love writing songs."
He suddenly got up with a soft "oof" and grabbed his ukulele out of its case near the corner of his room. "In fact..." He sat back down, indian style now, and hit the speaker phone button on his mobile. "Can you hear me?" he asked, setting the phone in front of him on the bed.
"I loved playing along! It's fun! I don't understand why adults think they can't have any fun," she said with a sigh. And then before she really realized what she was saying, the words, "It's not?" was out of her mouth and then she covered them up and almost dropped her glass of water.
"Oh shit.." she squeaked, putting the glass down on the counter, "Sorry.. I'm fine..fine.. just almost dropped the glass. Except now I'm all wet.." and she didn't mean it that way either but well.
As she went about trying to dry herself off, glad that it was water, she said, "I learned CPR when I had to for medical school.. I guess you'll have to play and sing for me.." she finally put the paper towels down and grabbed the drink again so she could sit back down on the couch, "Yeah I can hear you.. are you going to play for me?"
"I don't either," Harri replied. "That's why I've vowed to grow older but never grow up." Then she said her next little comment and he felt an odd sensation run through his body before blushing his reddest blush yet. Did she really just say that? "Um..." he said, his voice adorable and soft, like he was obviously a bit embarrassed. "Well... Not yet anyway."
He suddenly chuckled. "So you're no longer dry. Now you've just got to get nearly naked like me and we'll match."
Strumming his ukulele slowly, he smiled. "Right, okay." He cleared his throat and sped up his playing, establishing a pretty melody before bursting into a sweet, almost folkish song.
"Hair like the night and smile like the stars, you make me happy wherever you are. Your voice is my lyrics and your laughter my tune. Whenever you're near me, I'm over the moon. You're my Cassiopeia, my sweet goddess fair. My Cassiopeia, the sky we will share... My Cassiopeia, goddess from above. My Cassiopeia, the woman I love."
A little glad that he hadn't brought up her obvious innuendo earlier, but she laughed anyways and took a sip of her water and settled down so that she could listen to him sing and play for her. It was easy to just concentrate on how it sounded when she wasn't quite distracted with other things.
The song made her a little weak in the knees, and she was glad that she was sitting down. It was making her heart do little flip flops, and her stomach was clenched up nice and tight. She'd never felt better in her whole life. "Oh Harri.. that's.." she wasn't even quite sure how to say how she felt. She pulled her knees up against her chest and sighed, "That was wonderful.. I love you too.." because if this wasn't love, she wasn't quite sure she wanted to know what it was.
Harrison continued to smile, chuckling softly. "It's okay. No reason to apologize. I've actually been getting telemarketers on my mobile! I didn't even think that was possible. I just tell them I don't have a telephone and hang up."
