I didn't know you had taken to reading tabloids. My late mother did toward the end of her life and was full of conspiracy theories. Since multiple members of the Trump administration have ignored subpoenas about matters of which they have direct knowledge, I find Biden's hypothetical refusal of a hypothetical one over matters of which he has no knowledge rather amusing.
Hunter Biden, a Yale-graduate lawyer with multiple corporate ties and service, was appointed by GW Bush to the board of Amtrack; he did not serve in any position in a Democratic administration. His short-lived position on the private Burisma board was typical for someone with those sort of connections hoped to raise the corporate profile with investors. As Ukraine has stated, he was not under investigation there, nor was Burisma for any actions during the time period he was on the board. . Trump did not ask that he be investigated, but that they claim he was being investigated and publicize it in order to do a personal favor for Trump against a political rival, for which Trump temporarily withheld aid to Ukraine authorized and budgeted by Congress (Presidents do not authorize or budget funds; Congress does.)
Joe Biden, as Vice-President on behalf of the US under the Obama administration, worked with representatives of 6 other nations and the UN to remove a corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor, an effort which was successful. It was not a controversial assignment and did not involve him or members of his family in an personal or private way or benefit.
I used to subscribe to National Review, as did my late father, who carried on a lively correspondence with William F Buckley Jr. After my father died, WFB sent a nice condolence note and a Mass card.

Florence King was sometimes quite funny. There are a fair number of Republican Wiccans, Masonic and MesoPagan Druids, Rosicrucians and occasional New Agers. Ed Fitch, Nixon Republican, comes immediately to mind, as does the late Barney C Taylor (Grandmaster Eli), and Nancy Reagan 's astrologer. There are quite a lot of Republicans in some of the semi-secretive men's occult brotherhoods. On the other side of the pond, Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II were/are both initiates of Druid orders.
It is both amusing and sad to watch lifelong Republicans flee the party over Trump, who is, of course, not a Republican, but the same mob-connected grifter out for personal gain he's always been. Hillary Clinton should stick to her university chancellorship in Belfast; her Irish-American connections are good, and she's not relevant to the current Washington scene.

no, I don't read tabloids, thanks.

Does that attitude thing actually work for you? I find the alinsky paradigm to be totally off putting if you have any kind of self-esteem at all, that just doesn't work.

The NR crew is a little too married to trying to prove they are intelligent, just like the Dem elitists. Neither side actually understands the working person or the heartland voter. But, at least, NR is amusing. We all need to laugh more.
Look at the Iowa caucuses- TOTAL performance art- love it, wish the DNC could keep their mitts off of it, but that would be too much to ask.
I think every state should come up with an election process as weird as Iowa- In NH you all could have pretend sword fights with enormous icicles. Whomsoever said, "a touch, I do confess it" would be required to support the candidate of the successful icy swordsman/woman.
When you got it, there's no need to flaunt it- if you have any kind of self-esteem at all.

There were eleven states last time where the difference in the vote between Hillary and Trump was less than the third party and write in vote. 6 small states went for Hillary that way and 5 other states (some larger) went for Trump that way. It's gratifying that third parties and write-ins are gaining some power. Poor Hillary tried to blame EVERYONE- finally hit on a likeable female on the left who took away some of her votes (must be a russian agent!!). Talk about your conspiracy theorists.

My personal theory (haven't seen it published) is that guys who live with leftist females nod and say um-hum a lot and have to lie to the polls (mid-polls and exit/entrance polls) because the little woman is with them, but, when they get into the voting booth, they vote for TRUMP, because they've put up with SO MUCH FEMALE BLATHER just to keep peace in the apartment and a warm body next to them.
Tee Hee.

And who are you supporting?

Trump is just someone who was able to win. The left and newbies who think they are elite actually built him the name recognition-even Billary contributed.

I used to enjoy Firing Line- the posturing, the eyes lighting up, the sly smile, and the words, of course. I enjoyed his many books of columns, including descriptions of a delightful sister or two.
I read his novels, as well. About 8 or 9 , years ago. Recently found out that there were a few more and got them all, to re-read the old and enjoy the new.

I also enjoy some of Christopher Buckley's books- his better ones are, No Way To Treat a First Lady; Boomsday; Supreme Courtship and I Losing Mum and Pup was good. Of course, Thank You for Smoking was a movie based on one of his books- lots of changes in the movie but REALLY GOOD movie-FUNNY.

If you find yourself thinking or writing about politics and not laughing and smiling, you aren't doing it right. It's not about the candidate!!

And who are YOU supporting (with joy in your heart, I hope, otherwise, what's the point?)
