feeding the wolf

Two wolves...
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all. One is Darkness. It is anger, resentment, hatred, negativity, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, inferiority, lies, and superiority. The other is Light. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth and compassion." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

WELL, as long as I can chase my hair, I guess I am ALIVE ----

This is a quote from the mother of Chonda Pierce. She lost a 20-year-old daughter to a car accident and a 15 year old daughter to leukemia. In later years, after chemo for breast cancer and her hair falling out, she was bald and wearing a wig when the wind caught it and she had to chase it across the grass. When she caught it , she collapsed in the grass and couldn't stop laughing. When asked if she was ok, she responsed,
"Well, as long as I can chase my hair, I guess I am ALIVE!"
