I think this probably falls outside the domain of 'fashionably late', and I apologize. Like Ryan already mentioned, I've been woefully absent for the end of Fairly Tales, and... it kind of stinks. I had logs I wanted to do, loose threads to tie, fun times to be had, etc. Unfortunately, RL has kind of gotten majorly in the way of things.

But enough about me.

FT has, as many of you have reiterated, been an incredible RP experience. I never, ever, ever thought in a million years that I would ever run a game. And I never, ever, ever thought in a billion years that it would be such an incredible, smashing success. Truly, the fates smiled upon us when it brought all of you to our doorstep with your characters - hilarious, poignant, well-written, and real characters. And that's saying nothing of you players yourselves - I've never met such a consistently awesome group of RPers in all my years. Your creativity, dedication, and love for FT have made the past nine months indescribably rewarding. There were days when we all were just basking in the glory of this game, and it was fantastic.

Of course, I can't write a long, sappy good-bye post without acknowledging my co-mods. Seriously, this game would not exist if it weren't for Ryan, Julie, and Sarah. I honestly believe that we had this modding thing perfected. FT is what it is because we each gave our input, checked and balanced each other, and just generally had a lot of fun working with each other and working on the game.

So, hey, thanks. I'd fully intended to stop RPing at the end of last summer. Then FT came along, and I perhaps RPed a bit too much during the school year, but I don't regret a second of it. It's been absolutely amazing. Thank you. ♥

Velvet Lyon (Scheherazade): At the urging of her roommate, Cygna, and the needling of her old professor, Asher (and, of course, with the enthusiastic support of Murdock and the less-flamboyant support of Alex), Velvet eventually started to submit her writing for publication. It was a very slow process, and she met numerous rejections, but when she did get accepted, it was with glowing reviews. A couple years after she graduated NYU, things started to really pick up and she became a popular fixture in several literary magazines. Eventually, she published her first novel at the age of 29. To her surprise, she actually made the NYT bestseller list -- however, fame didn't suit her, and she has since become a somewhat Salinger-esque figure, never doing interviews or book signings after her first book.

As for her tumultuous love life, she and Murdock did date on and off (mostly off, because he could be particularly infuriating) until they did, finally, settle down as Ryan described. Her relationship with Alex slowly repaired itself, largely with the help of Tabs. There was more drama, largely centering around the fact that while she could not remember her past lives - specifically the last one where Scheherazade refused to live out her tale again and shunned Shahryar utterly - Alex could remember them in detail. This was resolved, too, and while nothing blossomed romantically (but it came close), in the end Shahryar did not lose Scheherazade, and did not lose his way.

Twenty years later, Velvet is still the Arabic Librarian, and she still does not require any assistants. She has settled into the position much more comfortably by now, and is generally viewed as the 'sane' librarian - quiet, but firm and just. Sometimes she'll tell stories in the library (but if anyone even thinks about selling them to the press or exposing her hermitude, Atheneum authority comes crashing down).

Lillian Maine (The Lion): Lillian's life pretty continued on as normal - she loved life, she loved food, she loved her men. Serious relationships never really cropped up, although Noah remained a constant in all her trysts. At one point she oversaw a cookbook project, which was a great success in the foodie community and popular in the general public as well. When she was 35 she decided to pack up and move back to California, where there's no such thing as a NYC winter. There, Adam replaced Noah as her go-to booty call, although they never reignited their past relationship. They did, however, have a kid together, who grew up entirely spoiled - both in the traditional way (mostly Adam's fault), and the gourmand way (all Lillian - actually, the poor girl had a bit of a weight problem until she hit puberty). Having grown up with a large network of family and friends all around the country, the kid is very cosmopolitan and open-minded (even if she does roll her eyes repeatedly at her mother's love life). Aunt Louise is a particular favorite, and she often sides with her when Lillian and Louise have their famous quabbles.

Kelly Chandler (The Tradesman's Daughter: Not much to say here, unfortunately. But Kelly does, eventually, move on from Reynard - at least to the point where she can function as a normal human being. This is not before, however, she lands herself in rehab for her drinking - she has Mads to thank for getting her through that. She never really stops being guarded and jaded and bitter - but she manages to put most of it behind her and live her life as her own.

Cordelia Bradford-Smith (The Raven): Cordie comes to New York for school and lives it up with her Gigi and Casey and other similarly-aged Tales. There are lots of hijinks to be had - most of them extensively chronicled in the Compendiums. She does very well in school, and completes many internships at newspapers and news channel stations. When she graduates, she is subjected to the usual low-totem-pole crap at the newspaper she works for, but quickly rises through the ranks because she is a particularly talented journalist. She mostly works the city hall beat, and becomes very well-versed in politics to the point where now she is just beginning to make a name for herself as a hard-hitting investigative journalist. Her writing style is cutting, but not without humor - and certainly not nearly as cracktastic as it can be on the journals (still).

And that's all, folks. Sorry for the liberties taken, and I can, of course, edit. ♥
