MATT SMITH IS ELEVEN FTW!!!
I haven't seen the Confidential yet -my sisters taped it, luckily- but that will change in half an hour or so.
I'm really pleased it's him! I had noticed him in The Ruby in the Smoke as a really cute and shy guy and I think he will be a delightful doctor. Who's with me?

Okay, I've seen the Confidential and now I can finally say something sensible about it.
First of all, I'm still quite happy about the casting. There have been people who complained about him being a) too ugly, b) too young and c) not black/not female and what not,
I for one don't think he's ugly at all, unlike my mum, who watched it with me and clearly didn't like the look of him. He's not beautiful in the conventional sense of the word, but he think he definitely has the potential to be hot. Especially when his hair is less all over the place and he's got his glasses on. ♥ Oh, I do love my doctors with their glasses on. I do wonder about the invisible eyebrows, though. O_o. Anyone else noticed that?
About him being too young: I would have liked to see a doctor who wasn't as young and dashing as -say- Chris or David, but Matt is not too young. He's just young. And I totally agree with The Moff (never thought I'd say that, but there you go) that he has the eyes of a Time Lord. Like combining the youth of his appearance with the ancientness of the Time Lords, and that's really something.
And thirdly, I'm afraid I'm not ready yet for a female Time Lord. On the other hand, I'm totally up for a (hot) male companion. Think of the dynamic, think of the slash, it's bound to be heaven.
So yeah, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I hope Matt will bring us a new, wonderful and quirky doctor. Let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope The Moff doesn't fuck up.
And what's up with RTD? Looked like he caught herpes or something.
