The Week
Overall it's been a good week. I finished up the temp job. Went to a free show. Had dinner at an amazing restaurant. So yay!
Still no word on the Pinedale thing which is actually a little frustrating. They haven't even sent my info to the people there (as far as I know). I sent an email to the woman I interviewed with on Tuesday to say thank you for taking the time to interview me and that I looked forward to hearing about the opportunities they have available. She said she hoped to get back to me this week (meaning last week) with some information. That didn't happen. I'm not sure if they are just unorganized or they didn't actually like me as much as I thought. I also received an email on Thursday from the Gunnison job saying they would be contacting me this coming week to start the next step in the application process. Whatever that means. It was a form letter so they must have sent it to a bunch of people but I'm still going to take that as a good sign. I'm perfect for the job except I have not handled birds but it can't be that different from handling small mammals- you break it you bought it. I also heard back from a job I applied to in Durango asking me if I was still interested. I said yes and haven't heard anything since, so there you go. Lots of possibilites floating around but not much resolution.
And of the job nature, Friday was my last day at the temp job. I'm glad. There was 1 hour of work that I had to make last 8 hours and I don't do well with that. I would rather be busy all day at work. But while I was at work on Friday I got a call from Jennifer at the HR department. I had met her a few times because she was the one that helped find my permanent replacement. She had heard such good things and there was an opening for a temp in her office. A six month position and they are interviewing next week. I didn't have a chance to call about it until the end of the day but hopefully I will get a call back about that on Monday or Tuesday.
I went to a free show on Friday at Moe's. It was really good. I went to see The Autumn Film with Otherside of Clearview and Jessica Sonner. I left too late and missed almost all of Jessica Sonner so I have no opinion of her but I really liked Otherside of Clearview and of course I love The Autumn Film. I was really excited to hear the two new songs that The Autumn Film was going to be playing but of course I had over the course of 2 hours drank: a 16 oz can of Rockstar, a 16 oz cup of water and a beer so they had just started playing one of their new songs when I realized I _had_ to go to the bathroom. I did get to hear the other one though and it's always nice to hear the rest since I'm so fond of them. Otherside of Clearview was fun. I felt bad for the lead singer because his G string broke- twice! So he couldn't play his guitar. Also, on the second to last song he ripped off his shirt which I found very funny. He was cute and has a nice body but it was just so dramatic that I had to laugh. They reminded me of a mix of The Toadies/Toad the Wet Sprocket/No Doubt. So I definitely liked them. I was amazed I didn't get carded when I bought my beer. It was a 16+ show so you think they would have been carding everyone but whatevs.
Then last night I went to this great restaurant down the street called Duo. I had been hearing lots of great things about it and this week is restaurant week in Denver which means a bunch of expensive restaurants in town over a selective menu for $52.80. Duo was participating so it seemed like a great time to try it out. Mmmm...it was good. We (Leila and me) didn't end up getting a table until 9 pm so that was a little rough but that was my own fault because I didn't realize you have to make reservations. Most places I have ever been to won't take reservations for 2. So it was a three course meal and I had the Fritto Misto to start off (it's a tempura with an aoili dip which maybe I'm the only person that didn't know that), Alaskan Cod with remoulade and a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Mmmmmm. It was tasty but so tasty I didn't have room left for dessert and only had a few bites. Okay speaking of food time to make some breakfast!
