When Havelock and Freya neared the grove she's taken for her home in the Nexus, her lion-sized cats come out to greet them--and demand attention from Havelock. Freya's content to leave him to their tender mercies for the moment, taking the chance to build up the fire. "Would you like something to eat?"

Grey approached Freya's grove cautiously, unsure of his welcome. As always, he had his daughter with him. "Lady?"

"Ah, my old friend! Welcome. Come and join us."

[greyfireson]

He smiles. "Thank you. Is this where you stay here?"

[fairgirlfriday]

"Yes, for now at least. Would you like some mead?"

[greyfireson]

"Yes, thank you." He moves a bit closer to the fire and sits on the ground holding Iva on his lap.

[fairgirlfriday]

She offers him some after a moment, smiling down at Iva. "Is your daughter well?"

[greyfireson]

He smiles. "Yes, she is healthy and growing."

Iva smiles up at Freya.

[fairgirlfriday]

"Good, good." Freya reaches out, brushing a fingertip down along Iva's forhead and nose, her fingertip leaving a faint trail of light. "She will be a great beauty when she is older, and strong of mind and body. She will never lack for companionship."

"Thank you Lady."

He smiles. "This little girl of mine... it seems many people fall half in love with her at first sight already."

[fairgirlfriday]

"No reason not to finish the job, then. You're welcome." She lifts her hand, resting it on his cheek. "I wish I could do more."

[greyfireson]

He gives her a searching look. "What more would you do, Lady Freya?"

[fairgirlfriday]

"I'd change a lot of things, if I could."

[greyfireson]

"And what would you change?"

[fairgirlfriday]

"Many things..." she glances over at Havelock, then smiles again. "Nothing we need to worry about today."

[chill_whispers]

And at that moment, Sasha arrives. Her glance flicks to Grey and young Havelock, and she accords a nod of greeting to each, then bows to Freya. "I did not realize you had company already. The cats did not mention them."

"I'd be very surprised if they had. Please, join us. Would you like some mead?"
