Sophie Status

For those who like to know these things, Sophie seems to be right on track size-wise. My last three or four visits to the mid-wives I was measuring a little smaller than average. At the first visit, I also hadn't gained as much weight as they like to see. I happily increased my calories & protein, and they're not concerned about weight gain any more. However, Wednesday, when I was about 34.5 weeks, I measured 30 cm. On average uterus height should be about the same as how many weeks you are. Also, I was down a cm from my previous visit. The midwife & I were both pretty confident that it was just the way Sophie was lying, sort of obliquely, but since it was several weeks in a row, the midwife made an apt. for me for Thursday morning for an ultrasound.
The ultrasound went fine, and the end result is that Sophie was estimated to weigh 5.3 lbs +/- 10%, which puts her in the 57th percentile. The midwife said they'd only worry if she was below the 30th percentile. I have the ultrasound report, which shows things like how long her humerus is, etc, which is pretty neat. All her scores are normal or within normal limits. If anyone wants to see it, I have it as a .pdf :) (Also, because I'm that kind of geek, I got a copy of my weight & bp record from the midwife, and graphed them out in a google doc.)

On average, she'll continue to put on about half a pound/week until she's born, so I'm hoping she's a week or two early. ;)
