Our septic tank is on the spritz and it smells so bad in the house right now. Of course this happens on a day where I'm off and I had planned to do some laundry and such. I can't run any water - NONE - so flushing the toilet is right out. It sucks!
I just put in another call to our landlady and she assured me that the plumbers have not forgotten about us and hope to make it out to our place by the late afternoon. Pfft. The first call was put in at 8:15am this morning.
Needless to say, I'm a bit pissy right now. Luckily, Aurora has been an angel today. I'm home with her because her daycare decided that Martin Luther King Jr's birthday is reason enough to close. Whatevah. At least I'm home with pay since I used a personal day.
In other news...
Yesterday Ariel and I went to church without Aurora and Michael. Last time we went to church, Aurora was a bit hyper and unsettled because Mass does take about an hour. So, just Ariel and I going was a good idea. She was very well behaved and asked lots of questions about Mass and about Jesus, etc. It's funny how curious she is. Funny thing is just this past weekend, we received in the mail some information about Catholic school for Ariel. Kindergarten is coming! Michael and I are going to crunch some numbers and see if this is something that we can realistically afford. It would be cheaper then having Ariel go to 1/2 day kindergarten at the public school and then 1/2 after-school care at Goddard.
Speaking of Goddard, we want to try to put Aurora in Goddard starting with their Summer program in June. Again, number crunching is involved. For Aurora it's going to cost $892/month for full-time care...Can you say "WOW!"? But you know what? It's so worth it. Goddard is awesome! AND the sooner I can get Aurora out of her current daycare, the better. *sigh* It's hard being a parent.
I'm looking forward to Saturday though...we start swimming classes again. Seven weeks for Ariel and Aurora and us - since Aurora's class is Parent/Tot. She took this last year but she's not old enough (obviously) to do swimming level I so we're going to repeat it with her to build up that comfort level, etc. Ariel is also repeating her swimming level II class because last year she was afraid and just couldn't do some things they were asking. This time 'round though she'll be much better since she had swimming all summer long at Goddard. One can only hope anyway. *fingers crossed*
