Just using my wedding pic icon for effect

We had fun yesterday "crashing" the Bridal Expo at The Reading Country Club (which is a lovely, lovely place by the way).

I took very few pics. They can be found here:

Now even though we're planning
jamesracheld's fake wedding to Stephen Steven McNamara, I did gather some true information that I need to throw some kick-ass parties in the future.

First of all was the limos. Oh yeah - there will be a mobile party to NYC in my near future! Me and 13 of my closest friends...this is DEFINITELY gonna' happen. I think we'll opt for the bus since it's tall enough to stand in. When I told Michael the price he didn't even bat an eye (I guess because he can do math so fast he saw that it was pretty resonable overall). I can see some good times happening during a MOBILE PARTY. *giggles like a schoolgirl*

Next, about the Reading Country Club. I'm going to look into this venue more to possibly having a banquet there for PaRenFaire.net's 5th anniversary. Our official 5th anniversary will be next year but if you go by when the "new site" was born and not by when our Yahoo group was formed then our 5th anniversary won't be until '09. Either way...I think this is THE PLACE to have our gathering. Just look at it...

I scored a bunch of free stuff! I picked up a pocket mirror, a pen in a "velvet" pouch, a keychain light with a grapling hook, and a box of candy. I also picked up a FREE APPETIZER card to use for dinner at the Reading Country Club which doesn't expire until March '08 (I actually picked up about 5 of those...tee hee).

We taste-tested a bunch of stuff too. We sampled 4 different wedding cakes, some salsa from a reception hall near Leesport (I already forget the name of it and the Executive Chef was one funny fella), some chocolate covered marshmallow from the same place, and a bunch of appetizers from the Reading Country Club - some roast beef pinwheels with horseradish, shrimp on some brown bread/crouton/cracker thing, bruschetta, and some other item which I'm forgetting at the moment. Oh and they had some punch in a fountain too. I took some pics of the "small space" that we were in for that part. It was all so Gothic and I had to take a couple of pics while there. The large ballroom is very open and will fit up to 300 people. Beautiful.

The other fun thing we did (well Rachel did more than I because she's the "Bride-to-be"...*snorts*) was that we registered for a ton of give-aways. I hope to God that we win something 'cuz that would be a gas!

NEXT BRIDAL SHOW WE NEED TO GO TO - 1/28/2007 The Bridal Fair at The Inn at Reading in Wyomissing. Who else wants in on the fun?
hc_godess and
eidolana - I think you two need to join us! Especially you, Kim, since you're really getting married!! http://www.berkscountyweddings.com/events_info.html

Ok - I'm off back to bed now. (I had to get up to pump in case anyone was wondering)

In other news...I'm going to keep Ariel home today because she's been coughing all week and I hope she didn't get Bronchitis too. We'll see what the doctor says.

Oh and today - Aurora is a whole 5 months old today! I'll post again later with pics!

Ciao!
