Doctor Who: 6x09 - Night Terrors

FFFFFUUUU, THOSE WERE SOME CREEPY. ASS. DOLLS.

This story's alien sort of reminded me of the one in Fear Her. All alone and wanting to be accepted, d'aww. But Fear Her was such a terribad episode and this one wasn't anywhere near that level of suck.

Ha, I love that Rory's first thought is that they're dead. Again. :P And the image of Rory holding this tiny flashlight while Amy wields a big lantern and frying pan is too funny.

I knew that mean landlord was gonna yell for his dog to help him, rofl. And Bernard's like, "Pfft. You're kind of a douche, man. Just saying."

Ah, I love it when the Doctor has to interact with modern day people. He just fails so hard at it. Bless. A+ job with continuity having the Doctor check his teeth in the mirror. :P

While I liked this episode, the parts with Amy and Rory exploring seemed to drag on. I'm not sure what would have helped move it along, though. The Doctor needed time to figure things out first.

Alex was a good pseudo-companion for the Doctor once he stopped freaking out and caught on. The resolution was a bit cheesy, but not of a kind that spoiled things for me. The power of intellect and romance (or in this case, of parental love) over brute force and cynicism! That's what Doctor Who is all about. So speaks Craig Ferguson!

Was anyone else freaked out when the Doctor said they were "back in the flesh"? I immediately thought of the Flesh.

I'm more interested in next week's episode! Doctor Who has a history of terrible old makeup jobs, but Amy actually looks really good aged up! There seems to be a lot of action in fighting those robot looking things, and there's one of those big questions of time travel, with what happens when someone's left behind?

Honestly, I do enjoy more timey wimey aspects of things, even if it fucks with my brain and ends up being a paradox. Episodes like Blink and The Big Bang are great that way, though coming along too often it might get a bit... played out? Last part of the season we saw what happened when Rory is isolated in the TARDIS for 1000 years and what that does to him. And this is coming pretty close to that. Not to mention that, again, while I love timey wimeiness, two Amys is much like having two Doctors in the two parter last part of the season.

But even from the preview, the look of the episode looks cool. So I'm excited to see it!
