Picspam: 10 Things I Hate About You (TV) - Part 3

Jun 22, 2011 17:12

We have reached part three, and I have run out of witty things to say here so let's just get to it.

Our episode starts with the girls' dad leaving for an overnight conference. Immediately, Bianca plans a party and Kat can't stop it once everyone turns up. She's angry at having to be the responsible one and trying to keep everyone from wrecking the place. A nice touch is that when Kat locks the door, telling Bianca that they've reached capacity and Bianca whines that she just has to let them in, Kat grabs these plastic bracelets and hands them to the guys when they enter, saying, "Congratulations! You've been made designated drivers! Put on these bracelets and if I see you drinking I will kick your ass." I thought that was a nice touch to show that yes, kids are drinking underaged, but one character has enough sense to force some to be DD.

But then Patrick comes in, saying he needs to talk to Kat in private. So they go up to her room and he explains that he didn't ditch her; he got arrested. But the charges were dropped so she needs to just forget about it. But she's still pissed, especially because this behavior seems common for him. She says this great line, "I've been seeing red flags from you ever since I met you. In fact, you look like Communist China!" and Patrick complains that once she's made up her mind about something, she'll never change it, so she can go be perfect alone in her perfect world since he's leaving.

Later Kat and Bianca get in a big fight when Kat tries to shut the party down, and Bianca accuses her of being Miss Perfect. Tired of having to be the perfect, responsible one, Kat says "Fine, you deal with the consequences," then she goes to drink and party, leaving everything in Bianca's hands. Of course she can't handle it, and Kat gets more attention as she gets more drunk and more fun.

Out on the back patio, drunk!Kat calls up Patrick, saying, "Come ooooooveeeeer," in her flirty drunk girl voice, and when Bianca comes over to try and get Kat to help her, Kat hisses, "I'm on the phone!" So ends the Kat/Patrick scenes in this episode.

This episode starts with Kat catching up with Patrick as he's walking through the parking lot. He asks if she remembers what she said to him the night of the party and she admits she doesn't. But when she tells him to tell her what she said, he says "Oh no. I'm going to savor this."

That bit is pushed aside as they find the school has implemented new security measures, including a metal detector at the door, random locker/backpack searches, and school uniforms. Kat is furious at the loss of their rights and tries to organize the students, yet when she explains what she's doing to Patrick, he shrugs it off, saying it's not like she can change anything.

But Kat teams up with the head cheerleader, who's father is the superintendant. Together they stage a walk out, but when Kat tries to get everyone's attention, she can't be heard over everyone. Not until out of nowhere, Patrick shouts, "HEY! Everybody shut up and listen to her!" *SWOON*

So yadda yadda, the superintendant calls the principal, who hands the phone to the superintendant's daughter, who threatens to tell her mom about her dad's slutty secretary if he doesn't repeal the uniform rule. He does and students start whipping off ties and jackets, heading back to class. But Kat wanted all the new measures repealed, so she and Mandela chain themselves to a tree in protest. Then Patrick brings them water, d'aww.

Kat's dad shows up, saying she'll be suspended if she doesn't stop this, and if she gets suspended, it will lessen her chances of getting into Brown. So Kat gives up, and when she tells Mandela and Patrick, they're both pissed she gave in. I like how Patrick came around and actually saw how she made a difference, so of course he was angry when she quit.

So back inside the school, Kat tries to explain to Patrick that she can't have a suspension b/c Brown has always been her dream, when they see the principal and a security officer going through Patrick's locker, about to search his bag. We already know this guy's got privacy issues, so he turns and starts to storm out of the school. The principal calls after him that he'll be suspended, but he gives no fucks and leaves.

That's the inspiration Kat needs, and she snatches the bag from the security guy, following after Patrick, even as the principal says she'll be suspended too. Out in the parking lot, she gives him back his bag and he says, "You sure about this?" Kat replies that she isn't, but she's doing it anyway. She hops on the back of his bike, and apropos of nothing, is this:

Patrick: Hold my hair.
Kat: Excuse me?
Patrick: That's what you said to me at your party. Right before you hurled.

Ha! So apparently he did return to the party after she called him. He hands her his helmet, and the ride off into the sunset together. :D

This next episode starts right where the previous left off. Patrick takes Kat to the beach, where she runs around in delight in their taking a stand against the Man. He says all this is "hot," and they kiss, until she breaks away to go run into the water while he watches, b/c he says "No way," to joining her. The scene then cuts to her out of the water, realizing the repercussions to come from her dad for getting suspended and shaking as Patrick puts his coat around her, d'awww.

Here's a link to the scene, since I can't embed it.

When her dad finds out she's been suspended, he says she's not going to lay about, and he wants her to repaint the living room. While she's doing that, Patrick waltzes in and jokes about getting suspended for him, and uses a paintbrush to write on the wall to say that it's because K ♥ P. And she rollers over it, lol. He wants to get her to come out and do something with him, but she says after the living room's painted she has to study for the English test she's missing and has to take once she gets back. But Patrick, obviously familiar with suspensions says that's not how it works. You just get a zero. Kat freaks out, saying that will bring down her GPA and she'll never get into Brown. Patrick says if it's that big a deal, he'll sneak her into the school to take her test.

So they sneak into the school parking lot and Patrick leads them to the stoner's van, asking for help getting them in. The stoner says that such and such wing is clear and Kat asks how he knows that. He shows her his phone and says, "There's an app for that." LOLOLOLOLOL.

The pair get in, but as they're navigating the halls, they see a security officer and duck into the janitor's closet, to find Bianca making out with her new secret boyfriend. The sisters are shocked to see each other, and Kat berates Bianca for skipping class, while Bianca does the same back regarding Kat breaking into the school to take a test.

As the security guard leaves the area, Kat gets ready to leave and in unison the sisters say, "I was never here!" leading Patick to say, "You Stratford sisters are weird."

Kat gets into her class, takes her test, and meets Patrick when done. No idea where he was hiding while she took her test. They're trying to get out when the security guard comes down the hall with two troublemaker students. With no where to hide, Kat does a completely logical thing and throws her arms around Patrick, kissing him against the lockers as the guard passes. Once he's gone and they break away, Patrick is thoroughly amused and even jokes that "Here he comes again!" so he can twirl Kat around against the lockers to try and kiss her again.

But the the guard really does come back and Patrick leads him on a chase to let Kat escape. Unfortunately she blows it by rounding the corner and knocking straight into the principal. So her dad's called in, and he yells at the principal for punishing Kat when all she wanted was to take a test. He goes on to say she only got suspended for defending a poor, defenseless student's right to their privacy (which is what Kat told her dad) when the security guard hauls Patrick in and the principal says, "Ah, here's the poor, defenseless student now."

The episode ends with Kat's dad majorly pissed she lied to him.
