Just another one of those days, I guess.

After a night with not much sleep, I was out the door at 9am to pick up Katie at her house.  We were back at by my place at 10am, Starbucks in hand and ready to shop for my dancewear.  I got my jazz shoes, outfit, and ordered my first pair of character shoes.  (I feel like a true thespian now!)  Following dance shopping, we went to Jo Ann's to get craft stuff and things for the HP premiere.  We perused the scrapbook store, went to Bob Evans and Mr. Fun's, and then I took Katie to work at 1:30pm.

I drove by Cassandra's uncle's ice cream shop where she was working.  I sat around with my raspberry soft serve and we made small talk until 2 when she got off of work.  We decided to go to Giant Eagle before I had to pick Mike up from work, so we hopped into her car and went.  As we left Giant Eagle, Cassandra's car wouldn't start.  The key wouldn't go in the ignition at all.  Some random guy in his 40's offered to help, but it turns out he did more harm then good.  So, we left Cassandra's car at Giant Eagle and started to walk back to her uncle's ice cream store, hoping we'd get there in time to grab Mike from work.

It was about 93 degrees outside...thankfully, we were wearing halter/tank tops and shorts.  Around 3:30 or so, I had already called Mike and asked him to call us when he got off work.  We had made it from Biddulph to Snow by then and stopped at White Castle/Church's Chicken to grab a cold drink and to avoid the desperate men honking at us from the road.  We headed back out, singing a bit to make the time go by.  As we were singing "I Won't Say I'm in Love," we found another desperate, horny man in a car.  Here's the play-by-play...

Cassandra singing -- "If there's a prize for rotten judgment, I guess I've already won that."
Me singing -- "No man is worth the aggra..."
*horny man honks his horn at us*
Me -- turns around, flicks him off and yells, "Screw you, asshole!"

Around 4, Mike called us.  His mom had offered to pick him up.  As Cassandra and I kept walking, Mike's mom offered to come pick us up.  So, Cassandra and I sat outside the little sub restaurant and waited.  She took us back to my car at the ice cream place and left Mike with us.  We went back to Cassandra's car and tried to start it, but no luck.  So, we went to Mike's house and waited an hour for Cassandra's uncle to come and look at it.  When he couldn't do anything about it, we decided to head to my place to get out of the exhausting heat.  (After all, Mike had spent six hours in direct sunlight at Kiddie Park and Cass and I had just walked for an hour and a half.)  As we were on our way, Cassandra's dad called and we took her back home so they could keep talking.  It was about 7:30pm.

I took Mike to Wal-Mart to get hardware for his family and then we went to K-Mart and finally bought his air conditioner at HHGregg.  Now, about 8:30ish, we headed to a deserted parking lot so Mike could practice driving.  He did a great job, considering he hasn't been behind the wheel of a car in a while.  We went through some side streets and down through the Metroparks.  After we got dinner, Mike drove us back to his house from the high school.  His mom was shocked that he had driven so much and done so well.

We went upstairs, installed the air conditioner, and finished watching "The Sword in the Stone" while eating our dinner at 10pm.  By 11, I was having minor chest pains...which I'm attributing to eat McDonald's so late at night and the lack of sleep plus the sun...so I headed on home.

My goal for tonight is to fall asleep by 1:15 or so and continue to sleep until 12, when I will wake up and get ready for work.

*sighs*  I'm exhausted.
