My romantic rogue has emerged once more and I'm head over heels.
My new book is "Maid Marian" by Elsa Watson. I haven't had a book I couldn't put down in ages. It's a wonderful feeling.
And, oh damn, Robin Hood is more amazing than ever. (And, yes, my icon is a picture of Robin Hood after I met him at the medieval faire.)
Maid Marian, at age seventeen, is stopped by Little John and other Merry Men as she and her nurse try to ride through Sherwood to meet Robin Hood for the first time to seek his help. Litte John stops the horses and tells the ladies they if they each give the men a kiss, they may go on their way...or they will have to be taken to his master.
After meeting enchanting Robin Hood, he says to Maid Marian, "Come. For though we are but a band of thieves, we will not treat you roughly---unless rough treatment is what you're after."
